New meds

Hi Everyone, I have been feeling a bit down lately and wondered if anyone had any info on Anoro Elipta and Flixotide. I have been using it for about 3 weeks but haven't noticed any change as yet, the last time my medication was changed 6 months ago, I ended up getting worse. I went from going to the regularly going to the gym to now not wanting to even go for a 10-minute walk. just spoke to someone from the British Heart Foundation and they suggested a 3 in 1 inhaler due to the medication I am taking. having looked it up here only seems to be one. Name of Trelogy Elipta I wondered if anyone had any experience of it.

Sorry it on that inhaler I'm on Trimbow which seems to work fine for me. Give it a few more days then if you don't feel like it's working please go back and see your GP. Let us know how you are doing, have a good night and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx

I was put on Anoro 2 months ago and not sure it’s helping me.

I feel low too and tearful but winter is not my time of year at all. Dark and cold not good for us all x hope you feel better soon x

That is the biggest complaint about inhalers.............are they doing anything? I have been on Anora for almost two years and who knows. But i have been on damn near all the rest and I have the same complaint. The rescue inhalers act quickly and you can tell but Anora as with the rest is to give the lungs some protection so there is a difference. also do you use your rescue inhaler first before using your med inhaler? Use it about 15 minutes before so that when you use your Anora you will get more into your lungs. Haven't used the Trelogy as I think it has a steriod and I am done with those. Listen not wanting to do much is part of the disease. I just finished a 4 month Pulmonary rhab course and can't say i fell better but it is helping to keep me alive. You have to get off your duff and it is hard to do. good luck.

Thanks to be honest I don’t see any difference when I use the Salbutamol but I’ll speak to my GP when I go back in a couple of weeks

Tried the three in one but had allergic reaction.

Been on Revlar Ellipta 92/22 as well as Spiriva. Seems excellent combination. Takes about a month to have full effect

Yes I use Spiriva , it works well, I also use Symbicort and the 2 inhalers work well with each other I feel like I dont have sever COPD and sever ASTHMA but I do.

That’s really good I’m glad you’ve found something that helps. Whenever I try new inhalers they make me feel worse

Yes I’m using Anoro - had a serious pulmonary effusion when on holidays and Spanish medical team suggested Anoro - it’s the only inhaler I’m using and 5 months down the line I’m fine- it’s different from older methods(Symbicort) I was on and it’s helping me. Like a lot of inhalers out there it’s a matter of trial and error - good luck with it! 👍

I have been on Anoro Elipta for a year and so far (fingers Crossed) not had any “flare up” of my COPD symptoms. I believe this inhaler is for protection only.

I have been changed recently to Spiolto Respimat which is a 3 drug preventer taken once a day which seems to be helping. I agree with the using of your ventolin about 15 minutes before hand, have only just started doing that and noticed a big difference. Feeling a bit of an idiot for not realising myself, but that's where this lovely bunch of people come in and help. Have a good day 😊

I believe it is only a two drug combination inhaler. I found it more effective than Anoro but we are all different and what works for one doesn’t always work for the next person.

I am on Anoro Ellipta and Relvar Ellipta I have been on these for some time and they seem to work ok. My doctors and others in our area have been using them for some time.

Have they improved your breathing I’m not sure what to expect from them. I use Flixotide evohaler not sure if it similar to yours

No up north in Doncaster, I take it you are down there in the exciting busy overcrowded London. We do visit sometimes as we have relatives down there.

Yes they seem to be working I was on two others before these but they were basically the same content. I think our GPs worked together to come up with a united treatment plan.

Your lucky I think they just keep guessing till one works. Last year they changed one I had no problem with and it made me worse

Hi just thought I would let you know I have my two inhalers replaced by one apparently someone decided that instead of two separate ones they will have one Its Trelegy Ellipta and combines the three active ingredients into one inhaler.

I have been lucky someone I can't remember who I think it was rehab said I was on the best treatment plan.. Hope all is well down in the smoke,
