The Bag.

They've left another plastic bag

To put in clothes I've spare

So off I go to the wardrobe

To check what I've got there

These pants are only 38'

I think I'll put those in.

But then I'm having second thoughts

I might once again be thin.

All these shirts are far to small

I guess they must have shrunk

They certainly no longer cover me

All around my trunk

But if my pants begin to fit

I'll be needing those.

And item after item

That's the way it goes

So then I see the shoes in there

The ones with the pointed toe

From my Winkle Pickers days

Surely they can go

Hang on just a minute

That fashion might return

Then those fancy shoes

Some money might well earn

So there I am with my empty bag

Which In the bin I'll throw

When the next pops through the door

I'll have another go.

I don’t ever fill those bags Don as they could be a scam. I give clothing etc. to charity shops instead then I know they’ve got it.

Great rhyme though. Xxx 👍❤️😘

Well dear, Carole, since I can never bring myself to put anything in the bags it doesn't really matter. Since my wife died I don't think I've thrown anything away. Whereas she, bless her, was always sending perfectly serviceable things off. Some of them my favourite things I'd had for years with plenty of wear left in them. I think she did it so that she had something to buy me for birthdays etc. xxx😘

I put things in the bag and take the bag to the charity shop rather than leave it out.

That makes a lot of sense, I might find something the right size too.🙂

I know that feeling Don when that bag comes through the door

i still have clothes aplenty that i should give to the poor

Lovely dresses that my wife wore was my initial start

Parting with them to charity almost broke my heart

But i don't trust these dodgy folk who pester us with bags

I am sure the charities see very little and they sell them off for rags

So the dodgy man in that white van will get nothing from me

Cos i take my stuff all cleaned and ironed to the local charity. :)

Well Mr.D a young slip of a lass,my age but a healthy individual, should take everything in her stride :- Christmas and the build-up to it and family all gathered together, then followed up by New Year parties etc etc. Makes me feel "lucky" to be honest! Lucky I'm not expected to join in unless theres a person with a nasty cold invited and thats another of my get-out clauses!!🙊🙉🙈!! Lucky i've a better than wonderful family, always ready to lend a reading eye with a heart-felt reply!(did u notice the rhyming there Mr.D?) Thats my family on here 24/7 ..... so i couldn't wish for better friends. Off i go again. Help me to stop my needlessly long and boring messages in 2020. 🐿💕
