Morning Early Riser, (I was up at 5.30). I Know that sound. back in the late 70's,I lived next to Liverpool Airport ( now called John Lennon), would witness The Concorde coming in , at it's last, Flight the Sonic Boom made our houses shudder. We were al stood on our Garage to get a Better View. We heard a lot more , frightened the life out of us. Ha Ha. Have a Good Sunday. xxx

Try being on a small yacht, when that happens, and they are flying overhead really low, it is extremely loud. It happened to us in October whilst on the Broads at the same time, 4:00 am.

It does make you jump, just heard it was due to a plane not responding but all ok now. Cant imagine the noise on a yacht.

Where I used to live the air force regularly did practice flights and there were frequently sonic booms. Here there are exercises twice a year but never any sonic booms, I think they're not allowed to fly at supersonic speeds here just for exercises. ✈️🚁🛩️

Eek! Bad enough in the daytime let alone in the middle of the night, talk about rude awakening! We had a sonic boom right overhead back in the summer- RAF jets scrambled to Stansted to deal with a disruptive passenger.

Hope you catch up with the 😴

They come over our house quite a bit. Apparently it’s for training, the terrain is hilly,so it’s good for practice.

They really fly low.

Thank. Goodness they don’t do it at 4.20 in the morning.have a rest to calm your nerves

Definitely will have a siesta later, my oh never hears anything and he is still asleep .It must make you worry when they fly low?

We’re used to it now, they do need to train, particularly with what’s happening in the country now.

When we hear them coming we rush outside to watch them go over our roofs.its a very impressive sight.they fly really low

On slightly different note, but still involving aircraft, about 10 years ago where I used to live in Liverpool, the Police helicopter was a regular sight, but this one morning about 3am it was hovering over the house at the back of ours, with the searchlight on full beam, it lit my bedroom up like broad daylight for about 20 minutes. I couldn’t back to sleep afterwards.🙁

I used to be a night nurse looking after people at night so im tuned to every noise not helpful when you are trying to sleep after retiring thankfully they haven't lit up the room yet meaning the planes lols

Very scary at night it makes you think what is happening you feel you have to get up and check Hyper vigilant is what we do not want to be.

A wake up call, in more ways than one, reminds me that I have yet to post my October holiday's sailing log.
