Ventolin

Thanks all for all the input folks, I have spiolto respimat and Clenil inhalers. Tried Fostair some time ago but went downhill with that. The reason I ended up with a respimat was because I was unable to inhale the dry powder capsules. I use a spacer device with everything possible. Had a heart thingy to wear for 24 hours and am now on Bisoprol Fumerate, beta blockers. I also have a salt lamp and an aerosure which often helps with mucus clearing. Think I've got to the place where just have to make the most of what I've got. Not bad going, when I was first diagnosed 16 years ago I thought I would be dead in a couple of years at the most. Stopped doing anything for about 6 months then shook myself and went caravaning, dancing, gardening, kite flying and sandcastle building. Still here and watching all the quiz shows and antique shows to keep my mind active. Oh and teaching my young carers how to cook. (banana custard and hard boiled eggs) if that's what is classed as cooking these days. Sorry for the long rant, just had a lonely day today. Thank goodness for you guys who are really uplifting 😊

Hi Patsyann24

16 years! Good on you and your positive attitude. Sounds like you had a lot of fun caravanning, kite flying. It gives me ideas. All the best.

Good Morning Hun, Your never alone on here, we are all here as a Group to help you. Though you know about it all after 16 years so we value your Input. I agree about Ventolin, Had my Resp Nurse to assess me Yesterday having had a chest infection & Raw Cough for 4 weeks and having to up my Oxygen from 16 hours to 24. She did all the Normal Tests, when I mentioned that The Ventolin doesn't seem to be working( when bad I could easily Puff 20+ in a day ( I am on Two other steroid inhalers), she said to ask my Consultant who I see on the 30th to change it, Been on Ventolin for about 10 years. I am now back on "Devils Tic Tac's" Prednisolone, Great they do help immensely but The side affects are a Curse. Hope to see you more often Patsyanne, Love n Hugs. Carolina XXX

I never did do well with Ventolin but got Bricanyl a while ago and like it. I don’t use it very often but do prefer it to Ventolin if needed.

So sorry to hear that you have bad stuff with prednisone, I must be one of the lucky people, I don't usually have any problems with them, only time was years ago when I was on them for a couple of months and ended up with feeling suicidal, luckily I had read the leaflet properly and immediately called a helpline, who soon sorted me out.

Keep well and chin up 💕❤️

Morning Hun,

Thanks for that, Yes , I have been there also a few Years ago, I know in advance before I Take Prednisolone now. The problem is the Appetite it creates, you want to Eat & Eat knowing you have to control your weight. & The Not Sleeping well, I love my sleep. Otherwise they do work as My Lungs have expanded some, I'm only on them for 8 Days, I normally Wean myself off, The Resp. Nurse said not to, just take the 6 a day. Have a Great day Today Patsyanne, Love n Hugs. C. xxxx

Thanks Sassy, today was fun. Got my carer to clean my spacers, which I need to use all the time as I am unable to take a deep breath. Having had a bad situation a few times I have just bought an aero chamber plus, which has the mask. As she is an ahsmatic I mistakenly assumed that she would know how to do that. I just went to get the clean inhalers only to find that they still have their bottoms on and are therefore still full of water. I'm now sitting in my living room with them on a tissue balancing on my snack box. You have to laugh 😂 otherwise you might kill someone.

Luckily I have a cardi and even better a beautiful dog who has been with me from the start. I would love to show her to you all but the moment I put the camera on my phone she hides. Of course she is a very modest Jack Russell until someone pulls up outside, then she miraculously turns into a meerkat on the arm of my sofa 😂

I had to stop Fostair and I have problems with Ventolin too. I use the aerosure to help with chest clearance

Glad you keep yourself active....I am resolved to do more .

Thanks for the post

Sounds like you are doing all the right things to keep going and great to hear your positive attitude. It can be very lonely sometimes as your life becomes more limited but we have to make the most of what we have including teaching young carers to make banana custard.

Best wishes

Love
