Breathing technique begins with a "B"?

Does anyone know that breathing technique that starts with a "b" which can be helpful for asthmatics? I've heard that that the Alexander Technique can help too but this is DEFINITELY a B - and named after the man who invented it?

Yes it’s Buteyko Breathing, and yes I have tried it.

I went on a course some time ago, but they are very expensive now. Mine was good , but I have had infections in my lungs for years so it was not a cure all for me. One of my daughters tutors was not so good.

There are books and videos on you tube, but be careful. It may seem like a simple technique but do it wrong and it may not work, or make you worse.

The idea is that asthmatics have hidden hyperventilation, so it helps you to breathe gently, with nose breathing.

There is also the papworth method, which my GP taught me when I was at school, but like the Buteyko method it only helps control the sympoms not the underlying inflamation in the lungs, at least that is what I have found.
