Totally clueless where to start

Hi to all. I am new here. Got question to do with breath. I sometimes find myself (most often) breath very hot air... to where people around me cover their mouths and noses. It is very embarrassing as a teacher in front of class where all people up to 3rd row cover their noses, mouths and faces. Also bad smell when I go 3 hours without eating and have to keep eating and brushing to manage being around people (or other people around me). I have wondered if it is lung problem, ENT problem or what??? I am left clueless! Anybody with any ideas where to start treatment?

Hello and welcome. Have you talked with your doctor about this, do they have any explanations for the cause? I don’t really have any suggestions for the origin of your problems but I hope you get some answers to your questions 🤞

Thank you HungryHufflepuff... no, I have not talked to any doctor about it because it is a hard situation to explain to a doctor... but I think I will do it... perhaps start with a GP and see what they think.

Sometimes bad breath is associated with digestive problems. Are you regular in your eating habits, making sure you have protein, carbs and fruit/veg at most meals? Do you find you have stomach cramps sometimes or need to take Rennies or Gaviscon?

All the best.

Thank you Ergendl... I am suspecting digestive problem too... I am pretty good with my eating habits- I eat balanced diet... however, I am sensitive to many foods including dairy products, wheat, red meat, a lot of oil, so I keep off those already. My stomach sometimes is uncomfortable yes, but I do not know what Rennies or Gaviscon is. I am in Africa.... never seen that... I am assuming these are antiacids? I don't use them often but sometimes. Thank you again for your thoughts.

Yes, rennies and Gaviscon help calm acidic stomachs. Are you able to speak to a dietitian or someone who is trained in understanding diets? Have you tried local stomach remedies? In the UK we use herbs like peppermint and liquorice to calm digestion, and lots of foods with fibre (fruit, veg, whole grains) to keep the bowels regular. Some people also use charcoal tablets to help tame bad breath. Wishing you all the best.
