Marooned

Sort of, for a short time. Stayed at the pub until closing time last night, with a moonlight walk back to the yacht. Turned off all alarms in the hope of a lay in. Which lasted until 8am.

The requisite bacon and egg sandwiches scoffed down with a couple of cups of coffee.

Michael lifts up the mudweight in preperation to make for a visit to Wroxham. We are at Womack Staithe which is accessed by a very narrow twisty dyke, 10 foot wide. We need to exit using the engine. turns the key to start the engine, totally dead, would not even give a click.

The fault was a loose battery clamp. By the time an engineer came out, fitted a new battery it was 2 pm. Too late to go anywhere else. So we are going to stay here another night. A lazy day after yesterday's excitement.

Enjoy your lazy day much better than the hospital take care x

Oh, that's a shame, should have been checked by the owner before you left surely? A discount due on the day of reckoning? 😉

"'Tis an ill wind that blows no good" A forced rest, that I am not going to fret about. The food at the pub here is worth staying another night for anyway. Events like this are what makes every visit different from the others.

Fairy Nuff. 🙂

Oh dear it was going so well. Shame but you are in a nice place with a good pub . Enjoy being there,

Could be worse--- In the days of the Wee Free could tell you about being marooned, stormbound at anchor in Outer Hebrides in the sixties when nothing happened on sundays except church. It was sunday All we saw all day was one dog.

Thanks for the update ⛵️ I’m enjoying this holiday. A day marooned all part of the happy patchwork of holidays. Hope you’re staying well enough! Food sounds nutritious anyway. Have a good day tomorrow.

It is a 1 1/4 mile walk, that takes me 25 mins to do with 3 stops to catch my breath. Worth it though. There was a carvery last night at £9.95 a head, very good value. Michael and Sharon had heaped plates whilst I kept to a modest size to be able to breath on the walk back. Off to Wroxham at the moment.
