Oh no 2greys! I can hardly believe it. I’m really sorry to hear this. You mentioned your holiday, does this mean you’ll have to miss it? The main thing is you get yourself well, the holiday can be rescheduled. I know, it’s so disappointing and you’ve probably lost money on it, but your health is more important. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Only Just Seen this 2 G' s, so Sorry, Your Poorly. Your Plans for your Norfolk Broads Holiday will have to be reinstated when your Better Hun. I'm still getting over a Chest Infection, My Stats are quite low at 88/89. I know you will be Better very Soon Hun. Look after Yourself. Love n Hugs. C. xxxx

Hi Hacienda...yes your sats are low. Do you use supplemental oxygen? J

Hacienda profile image
Hacienda in reply to jmsutt73

Morning Hun, Yes, I have Both , 16 hours a day Home ,and my Mobile Oxygen. I have had a Chest Infection, not cleared up yet, hence why my Stats are low, Normally 91/92. Thank you for asking. Take care, Have a Good Wednesday Hun. Love n Hugs. C. xxx

jmsutt73 profile image
jmsutt73 in reply to Hacienda

Sounds like we have similar oxygen schedules...I'm on 15 hrs. daily. I too have a portable. It weighs 4.5 lbs.. Not so heavy, but after a while it gets heavy. I thought about the Inogen, the 2.5 lbs., but I need 3 lpm and was told yesterday by therapist that it will not work for me. I may have to go to the mini-tanks. Prayers for your full recovery soon. J

Hacienda profile image
Hacienda in reply to jmsutt73

Thank You Hun, My Mobile is a Inogen 1 and is like a Shoulder Bag, I Take it with me everywhere especially Exercise Classes and Shopping, I have improved with Exercise and find I don't always need to use it, So I can prove that Exercise and being Positive does help our Lungs. My Home is for 16 hours especially for all night Sleeping about 6/7 hours, so I deduct the time from when I use My mobile, in all I probably round it off at 14/15/16 hours, There was a Time I was 24/7. We all get to Understand our Body Cycle and how to Adjust to its needs, I Control my COPD , I will not let it Get in my way of Living, (Apart from the sudden chest infection). Here's to a Great day to you and everyone , Salud Hun. XXX C.

jmsutt73 profile image
jmsutt73 in reply to Hacienda

After reading your post,I'm wondering if I got good information from the therapist about the Inogen. I need the 3liters per minute when I am walking far or fast, or when I am doing a bit more than just regular work in the house. Perhaps a bit more research. Thanks. J

Hacienda profile image
Hacienda in reply to jmsutt73

Hi J, I use level 1 at home when just sitting, on walking & exercise I have it on level 3 as advised by my Oxygen Nurse. It works for me, but we are all different in our needs XXX C.

jmsutt73 profile image
jmsutt73 in reply to Hacienda

The person I spoke with yesterday must have misunderstood, or perhaps I wasn't clear. I use when sleeping, and when I am working in home, and my portable when out. My levels when sitting are 96-98, when I am just walking slowly in house it drops to 91-93. I'm not good about just sitting. I get out several times a week, go to big box stores and walk (slowly). I'm not going to win any races, but I keep moving I'm 76 yrs (going on 20), and have gained 20 lbs over the past 3 yrs... Since quitting cigarettes. Trying to get it off...difficult. Ughhh. Thanks, J

Hacienda profile image
Hacienda in reply to jmsutt73

Maybe you need an Oxygen Nurse who can also do your Blood Gases from your Ear lobe, this measures the Oxygen in your Blood and of Course the 6 minute walk to assess your capability of walking with Oxygen. I am coming up to 68 and my Hubby is 51, we both feel Young, Again Numbers are not always important. The advantage of having a younger Hubby, he looks after me when it is needed, otherwise we have a great life with his energy, Ha Ha, and my Direction to Life. We Celebrate our 20 year Anniversary next week. ( he's my second Hubby). Take care Hun. Get your Oxygen sorted if you feel the need, my stats this Morning were Good at 92, sitting. That is the Norm for me. Hugs XXXX C.

So sorry to hear this, 2greys. My heart goes out to you 💕 The correct treatment has started, now you need to rest to give it a chance to work....at maximum speed!

But in reality, your recovery will set its own pace, I’m afraid, which isn’t quick with pneumonia. Don’t be tempted, however annoying and disappointing it is, to rush off into the October chill, until medics approve.

There’s always next summer, as you’ve planned, and how sweet will that enjoyment be after this enforced dry dock??

All the very best to you, 2g xxxx

I’ve recently been in hospital for same reasons. When I came out I expected my SATs to go back to previous levels - about 92. They told me it takes another 6-8 weeks for lungs to recover . I was a bit disappointed but like all this lung trouble, have to accept it. It’s now combined with prednisalone withdrawal effects which knocked me sideways, but now about a month after hospital, can see improvement.

Sorry to be a bad news bearer, and we all react differently, but this 6- 8 weeks seems a general thing. So don’t overdo things after your escape from the hospital.

Please look after yourself, x jo
