For the Breathless.

We were used to bashing on

With any job we do

Trying to get it finished

And start something anew

Alas those days are over

And we must take our time

Because those little jobs we did

Became mountains we must climb

So treat your body gently

The time to rush has gone

Find a really comfy chair

To place your 'sit-upon'.

They called him Flash he was always on the go

We talk of course of Master Po

His little dog just couldn't keep up

Even when she was just a pup

But now they are aged and in decline

But they still bring us so much sunshine..............:) x

I am a living example of your rhymes being so true,as I'm at this very moment, sitting in my comfy chair and it's lovely💞

This weather always makes me more breathless and my ankles swell when it is like this, so sit or recline on bed, with feet elevated and feel lazy.

So very true Don, cant believe I did everything on the weekend and that included Mums as well and going to work full time, it was only 5 years ago.. It now takes me a day to do one room and then I need a day to recover ha!

in reply to Izb1

Why bother? Somebody told me that after the first month a room never gets any worse.😁

That’s because of those funny plants that you are growing up there. 😉🌱🌿

Quentin Crisp is supposed to have said that the dust becomes ‘breadcrumbs’ if left long enough! 😏

What a character he was, with a quote for every occasion. 🙂

What a very relevant poem Don, you must have had me in mind!

in reply to RoadRunner44

I keep an eye on you. With a name like you have chosen you need watching.😁

Well, I never thought about it that way. I understand where you are coming from now. What a laugh, how on earth did I come up with a name like that considering I have a lung disease. When I thought about it afterwards it did make me smile though. All the best.

I have Bronchiectasis and am very short of breath nowadays. Your poem made me smile but I do feel bad, especially when my husband wants to go somewhere or we go on holiday as I feel I’m always holding him back and spoil these times for him. He doesn’t complain and he really tries to understand but he’s always been very fit (in the past running marathons and cross country running) and when he retired he got a job as a Postman as he was bored sat around (which he never did). What I really want to say is it’s been a tonic to smile about it all.

I bet your husband is quite contented to be looking after you as I was when looking after my wife when poorly. He wouldn’t want you to be feeling bad like that. Neither do I after going to the trouble of making you smile.😅
