Hi!

Ive had Aspergillosis for just over a year now as far as I know. I had pneumonia last year and was treated with antibiotics in hospital. I came home and I kept saying that I had problems breathing on waking in the morning. Well one morning my breathing was so bad that I passed out. I went to the Dr and she sent me back into hospital where they did tests and discovered I had Aspergillosis. I was put first on to steroids but my bloods were still high for Aspergillosis so they put me on Itraconazole which I have now taken for over a year. Luckily and I’m touching wood when I say it, I get on with them ok. What I have is allergic bronchial Aspergillosis.

My question is! Does anyone else get more tired and sleep longer since having this.

I was a terrible sleeper for years and was never tired when I went to bed. I now go to bed earlier and sleep for seven or eight hours. I used to sleep for just a few hours.

Although not diagnosed officially with asp my consultant says that from the clinical picture it looks like I have it. Yes I become very tired abd can sleep for 8 hours but I think it's the same with any respiratory disease because the heart/ lungs are having to work harder to get oxygen around our systems surely?

I never thought of it in that way. Do you wake up not being able to breathe properly and have to use an inhaler. That and the fact I get so tired early really is the only way I know I have Aspergillosis.

Im aware of breathing more heavily in the mornings but dont need inhaler. Take a good look in your bedroom for any irritants there might be? Old carpet? Mould around windows etc....

Ive not got any mould that I know of. I will clean around the rubber on my windows and see if that helps. It’s black rubber and it’s the sort you wouldn’t see anything on. I do have a plant that my Son gave me sat near the window. I will remove that straight away. I did have quite a nasty breathing thing this morning and I did use my blue inhaler. I suppose if I do think about it my breathing is a bit more heavy anyway. I seem to get out of breath quickly. The thing is we do what we have to and don’t really think about it until we are really breathless. Thank you for replying.
