Just had whooping went to

accident and emergency and they found I had large lungs . I have always been fit and healthy no problems. Could this be because I nearly choked to death on the whooping cough. Don't understand no problem jogging 3 km each day. Or is this the start of something more sinister?

You really need to see a respiratory consultant/specialist to sort this out. If you are in the UK then you need to see your GP and get a referral to see a consultant to find the cause.

Have had a further x-ray that came back as clear lung fields and the consultant has said the doctor who diagnosed me in accident and emergency should not have said hyperinflated as whilst they are large and long no evidence of damage on xray. However I have doubts that it constitutes a clean bill of health simply on the basis of an x-ray. The GP thinks my lungs are long because of my morphology. I am tall and slim (6ft). I think the only way to conclude the matter is CT and spirometry tests. What do you think?

Your thoughts are correct the only way to diagnose COPD is with a CT Scan and a spirometry test.
