Well the day has finally come for long term oxygen therapy, and they will be coming to set it up tomorrow. I saw the respiratory nurse this morning and she read the consultant’s letter and in view of the fact that my heart is not in good condition either she made the decision. So one more step along the road! Can’t say I’m thrilled but know it will help.

Hmmm... I know from earlier posts you were reluctant to have LTOT but it will help and maybe take some of the pressure off your heart.

Carnival,make sure they 'set it up' in the most convenient manner for you,fortunately in an earlier life i was capable of running tubes through walls and attaching tubing to skirting etc for Cecilia,though i doubt i could do it now but sometimes the supplying company which in my case was Air liquide are economical in offering assistance in doing so.

Hoping that you can adjust to life on the tube and that it actually gives you some noticeable benefit above and beyond organ protection.

Hi. Hope all goes well. We live in a bungalow and my husband has three taps now. This is because of the tube that was over the floor and caused a few problem with trips and earlier this year Dolby put the concentrator in a spare bedroom. We do have tubes running around the ceiling and through walls but it has made life easier for my husband. If you do have a spare bedroom or a room you do not use much and you are a light sleeper having the concentrator in a room you can close the door on is so much better. It is a learning curve for you and what best for you .

Hi Hun. This is Good. I have been on 02 for 4 years now, I'm in a Bungalow for past 2 years as I couldn't manage stairs in a House. I have Tubes connected with a Dial in my Hallway, one to Living Room other Bedroom. I am now on 16 hours, reduced from 24, It's amazing how it becomes a natural part of your Life. I take my Ambulatory 02 with me everywhere. Because of our Conditions, I'm Stage 4 Severe we need to have as much help that is available. carry on as Normal with Meds and Staying well & Fit (ish) we can enjoy every day. Love n Hugs. XXX

Believe it or not we get used to it Carnival567 . It takes time but we get there. You'll find the tubes a bit off a hindrance at first. Be careful not to trip. I have almost taken a tumble on them. xx 🌿🌈

Wishing you a smooth transition on to LTOT and having a wonderful Resp Nurse to fight your corner is always a blessing. Deffo enquire as to the air hose being installed as it can cause nasty trip ups but in saying that,touch wood,I've had a few near misses but nothing that caused any problems!

please let us know how you got on,obviously once you are settled in with your new but if "kit"!!! 😀

Thank you for your support. At the moment I have trailing tube but they are coming on Monday to “plumb it in” which will be much better. I have just had the best night’s sleep I have had for ages, so a bonus already!

Oh that's great news to know you've had a decent night's sleep. Was that with your oxi on? I have to wear mine 24/7 and really think it has helped my anxiety ,in that I dont have that bottom of stomach,sickly feeling when I wake up! It'll be interesting to learn how long it took your oxi supplier to pipe you from room to room. Come back and tell us all about it would you please?

My husband went on LTOT 16 hours a day at 2 lpm'in June of this year.He had a cardiac arrest after returning home from his pre op assessment .We have now been told that as soon as he was on LTOThe was unable to have a stent and aortic valve replacement . He could now die at anytime.
