Hi- can anyone help? My GP recently requested a blood test for alpha-1 antitrypsin due to some wheezing I have, and a strong family history of COPD.
The blood test that was carried out was Serum protein electrophoresis, which came back normal. I asked the GP if A1AT is included in that and she said yes. But I thought the A1AT tests was a separate test. So I don't have an actual level for A1AT on its own, just a 'normal' electrophoresis result. Is that usual?
Any help appreciated! Thanks in advance
