I have peripheral cardiovascular disease quite bad, 10/15 mins is the longest that I can walk for before leg cramp stops me for a break until I can continue.

What I have noticed is that the cramp is a lot worse after sitting for too long. It can improve slightly after a few stops. My only suggestion is to increase the period to every day and after that for longer for each session. The more you do, the more you can do.

Greetings, I suspect that I have Peripheral artery disease. If you'd be kind enough to detail the type of pain you get I would appreciate it. The doctor is ordering the tests. I actually get it in both legs mainly behind the knees on the back of the legs. It is very painful. Feels like the back of my leg (behins the knee) is being sliced open with a box cutter or a really bad tearing pain.

What makes it worse?

1) Walking maybe about two blocks it starts to get highly uncomfortable and at some point I just have to stop walking due to pain level of about an 8.

2) Standing in one place for a long period of time such as cooking.. peeling vegetables, slicing-dicing food prep such as an hour or so worth.

3) Sitting for 1-2 hours in the computer chair maybe with my legs tucked under the chair and then straightening my leg out to stand up is extremely painful.

4) Lying in bed with legs straight out can be painful.

Sometimes feet are cold where I have to put socks on and the electric heater to get in bed.

Sometimes my feet are so cold I climb in a hot bath 107 degrees just to warm them up.

I do get cramps in hip, calves, and hamstrings.

Thanks for anyone's input in advance.

Respectfully,

Dave

You have basically described what I experience and the cramping pain is excruciating. It is tested for by them placing a blood pressure cuff around the ankle. My claudication extends to the major artery in my midrif that splits into the arteries to each leg.

Do you get it in both legs?

Yes, both legs are equally affected. They can fit stents to help, but there is a risk attached with them.

I have the same condition but unable to walk far due to breathlessness. I have only 23% lung capacity with emphysema COPD but I find peddling a standing bike with the lowest tension on, for at least 10 minutes almost every day has helped.

I'm not a doctor nor medically trained.

I unfortunately learned a little bit with my wife's cancer. I wonder if Liposomal Vit C would help you. It's on Amazon something like 1 pouch for $32.00 USD or 2 for $%9.00 USD. It has helped my wife with polycythemia. Her ferritan gets real low. I think there is an article somewhere that states where it can increase oxygen being carried.

THIS is NOT just regular vitamin C. It is a specially prepared high dose of vit c whereby much more gets absorbed.

Your regular doc will not know anything about it. An ND maybe. The ND knows about IV Vit C high dosing. Possibly worth researching.

Also check out low dose naltrexone aka LDN:
