That's new to me. I'll be interested to hear what you think of it.

I haven't tried one of these but I did ask my respitory nurse if I could improve my lung function by using an Acapella Breathing Device but because I have a very low Fev1 she said she would have to look at my scan first. As it turned out she said it wasn't suitable for me and could infact cause damage by blowing to hard... Anyone who wants to use these devices should let their doctor or respitory nurse know just incase it's not suitable for you and also if it is suitable you can often get it free from your nurse 😊

Hi Diane, just watched this in use on u tube as I have never seen one before. It looks good, just make sure you dont breathe too hard, especially at first. Anything that can help your lungs has got to be worth a go. Good luck and let us know how you get on x

My doctor told me the Best breathing exercise for breathing is blowing up balloons.

Yes I agree I do it every day but have to be careful it does not pop. It scares the holy mackerel out of my dogs.

Only that I've got one! You've given me a jolt in finding it and perhaps using it to build some breathing stamina.

I think it's a very good idea, so simple. It's the same as a scuba diving mouthpiece (and I have scuba dived in the past). You can adjust it as your breathing gets stronger. Good luck with it, can't wait to hear his you get on. P

I think my problem is I'm a nose breather 24/7 and trying to only breath in through my mouth was like trying to stand on my head! I think it's probably important to make sure the gauge is set on the easiest until you get used to it. x
