Tia chi

Just completed first class , phew hard work but it was definitely worth it , the people in the class are all beginners and they quickly picked up on my copd but luckily there is another guy in the class who I know from pulmonary rehabilitation ( its 15 ladies and two guys) the ladies were lovely

If anyone gets a chance to go to Tia chi my advice is to go ,its slow rhymical and gentle so very low impact hard work but keeping fit is hard work for us and it can be done standing or sat down ,I cant wait for next week

As always breath easy and have a good day

Hi, I've been going to tai chi for about a year. It has helped tremendously with my breathing, my breathing age has gone down 10 years, of course it may be due to other medications or " happy londons" slow breathing techniques. I sure miss her. Keep going soulboy enjoy the company. Jane

She took a break from HU but then left altogether, I think the ongoing situation with her health was getting to be a big struggle. 😢

I loved doing it, but had to stop as it hurt my arthritic knee. The version I was doing was standing, where the knees are bent throughout.

Same as the one I'm doing ergendl , it does get the legs shaking lol

Hi Ergendl, I am doing seated Tai Chi at an Isabel Hospice Hub which is all seated - I am not yet particularly successful at the visualisation part but I do find it extremely relaxing and although I am capable of standing I would think that you would certainly benefit from performing it seated if you can locate sessions done in that way. Best wishes

Did you get recommended for the tai chi by your pulmonologist or did you just decide to join this class? It sounds really good, I’ve heard a lot about tai chi but never tried it.

I got recommended for the healthy living programme which offers various courses , I choose Tia chi because I'd seen it a few years ago but at that time my copd was rather more in control of me rather than me in control of it so I couldnt do it then but thankfully I can now ,I also choose gentle excercises,

It's really good excercise it's hard but manageable and I'm hoping will get easier as time goes on ,if your capable please try it ,you wont regret it

Hi Dave, We also do Tai Chi within our Breathe easy Exercises, At the end of a session for about 20 minutes, it is very Relaxing. Carry on with the feel Good factor as I'm sure everyone here will do, or Think of Joining. XXXX
