I've just read about a 15yr old cystic fibrosis double lung transplant recipient who has been saved from a antibiotic resistant infection with something called phages, as far as I can gather these " phages" are friendly viruses that attack infections , under the microscope this particular phase looks like a spider it really does,( I wonder what people will do who are frightened of arachnids and who are unfortunate to require this treatment ? , I suspect their fear of spiders will quickly focus just on those outside of the body)
I hope you all have a easy breathing day today and are stress free

I watched a documentary about phages ages ago. I think it was Poland but each patient was given treatment that was solely for them and each infection was cleared. I don't understand how it works but the way we are going with antibiotics we need to be looking closely at this sort of thing
That's good to hear that it was ages ago you heard about this mandy , the longer scientists are working at something the better it will get ,hopefully using these phages will make antibiotics useful for longer ,have a good day
I didn’t hear this story but have heard of phages and I can’t remember exactly what they are but it seemed promising. Whatever it was made me think of spiders too! Was it not some ancient therapy that’s been rediscovered or reinvented? Or was that something else? Anyway, anything that can offer hope is a good thing. Thanks for sharing this story.
There other posts on here about phages and a link that cof drop put on. You might find them interesting.
