Morning all. Just got back from my chest consultant. He has ordered a CT scan, lung function tests, and a PR course for me. On the plus side, he has been looking at my recent xrays and scans and on a recent kidney scan can see no sign of the dreaded IPF! This is great news, but a slight hiccup is that I also have Ankylosing Spondylitis and apparently this can cause scarring in the top half of the lungs (it’s one of the only things that dies this, most causes affect the lower lungs) so when I have my next appointment I hope there is no trace of IPF. Fingers firmly crossed that all I have to deal with now is ongoing COPD

Enjoy your day everyone 😊

Hello Carole, thank you so much. I’m so relieved! He said Fingers crossed the next set of tests also show no scarring! Hope Pete gets on ok with the PR. This will be my first time, you might have to nag the GP or chest nurse to get him on another course, in case they have forgotten! Take care, 😘 xx

Thank you HH 😊 It’s my first time with PR due to mix up with dates etc. Enjoy your day 😊

That's great news Brian! (Well, obviously not great to be told you have Ankylosing Spondylitis but you know what I mean)!! I hope it can be controlled/treated and that everything gets a bit easier for you- you've had such a rough time of it. It must be the day for chest consultants in North Wales as I'm just off to mine in Bangor! Dr McKeon. xxx

Good news about the IPF Brian but of course not so about the Ankylosing Spondylitis . I hope you enjoy the PR course and it helps you. Take care.

Thank you Cass, I had no idea there was a strong link between the two but found out yesterday that there is literally hundreds and hundreds of pages of research and information on the subject. Enjoy your day xxx
