So it doesn’t help your breathing? Do you have asthma?

Salamol, Salbutamol and Ventolin are all the same.

There is only one alternative, Bricanyl (Terbutaline Sulfate), there is no harm in trying it to see if it works better for you. I use it, as Ventolin stopped being useful to me as well.

Those inhalers only help open up your airways. There are other inhalers which are long acting which would be better for you. Go to your doctor or respiratory nurse for a review and they should check your technique and carry out spirometry and change your medication.

Hi paulc20. - Sorry to hear you aren't getting on with Salamol. Think I was given Salamol/Sambutamol but it made me very shakey and trembly no idea why.

Now I've been given a Bricanyl inhaler to use when necessary but also a Braltus once a day hard capsule (must use same time every day) and they both seem to be working OK.

Sorry don't have more detailed info on either, but would advise you to ask respiratory nurse and/or consultant about the problems you are having as there are alternatives. Bests j x
