It took a long time for me to get going this morning. Another of my whimsies, this time an elf.
I must write down my list of questions ready for my oxygen appointment. The last time I saw the nurse she put the thingy on my finger and left it there whilst we were talking. I was stable. However, the moment I started to move everything went bonkers. I need answers.

I am hoping they will reduce my daily hours again. More than that, I want answers and action. I cannot move more than a few steps sometimes, even with oxygen. Because of my echocardiogram results they should be changing my tablets, but not a word yet. I think I would go mad if I had to trail an airline around 24/7. xx

Apart from the dog portraits I do try to find somewhere to put a mouse.

As a child I had a series of books called Flower Fairies. I can’t remember anything much about them but as I recall they were beautifully illustrated. This picture reminded me of those books. 🧚♀️ 🧚♂️
I think I've got most of the flower Fairy books. I used to love the Christmas one.

No such luck I'm afraid. It's quite long winded so I think I will leave it until tomorrow to put up a new post. I feel a bit drained now.

Fabulous picture, did you do art classes? for how long? Or are you self taught. You are very good and should not waste such talent. Never too old. Hope your assesment went well x
I did the usual art classes at school and then went to college for something totally different. I've not had any formal training at all.
Well you are fabulous, did you use your art in your working life? Shame you didnt get to art school, I think we would have seen your pictures more often x
My art came in very handy during my working life. I used to design gardens and take on portraits for people. I also used to draw small shapes which I then cut on a fretsaw. I used to sell these cut shapes for people to decorate themselves. It is only in the last 10 years that I have gone back to my first love because I have to do things sitting down now and drawing fits the bill.
Well your artist streak was put to good use then, you must feel very proud of yourself x

What a beautiful picture! You have such an amazing talent! To be able to capture images - not just what you see with your eyes, but what you see in your mind - and put them on paper so the rest of us mere mortals can enjoy them to? Bless you for sharing them with us.

Your whimseys are lovely. It is a shame that you didn't take up illustration. I loved art at school and got the top marks in the whole of Scotland for my O level art. Guess where I finished up working? Yes, you've guessed it, banking!! The biggest mistake I ever made. I did do sculpting and clay modeling at The Glasgow School of Art at evening classes and I felt really arty. We used to meet at a coffee shop (Espresso of course) this was the 60s I was trying to grow my hair long to look more beatnicky, black stockings, mini skirt and black sweater, I had it all. I loved the Rennie Mackintosh building, I cried both times it burned down, it was wonderful and inspirational. I did have one claim to fame. A full-time student stole one of my pieces, the tutor said it had blown in the kiln, he got a second place in an exhibition with my work!!! Anyway, that's all water under the bridge. You enjoy your painting for pleasure. I hardly ever dable now despite having all the tools.
Gosh, what a life. Neither of us ended up doing our first love. Mine because I was married to a chap without an artistic bone in his body which rather limited what I could do. Having got rid of him ( so to speak ) i decided to go self employed and did all manner of jobs. I loved every moment but without being able to drive I was rather restricted in what exactly I could do with my artwork. Now, years later I take on the odd commission when I feel up to it. How different we all are.
My first husband was a total Philistine who didn't like me doing anything which took me out of the house without him! I too got rid of him, took me 17 years, but my second husband is the complete opposite, he used to fling me out to an art class which was in a college just opposite our house, I was fine once I got there and loved it. I haven't painted for years now, mainly because having to clear my stuff off the dining table is a nuisance. I would have loved a craft room where I could have my sewing machine and my paints out all the time. I'm so glad you are still painting and long may you continue.
Because there's just me and Fidget, I can be as untidy as I like!!!!! I'm not though I am very tidy. I have a workshop where I used to do all the fretwork. I have a large kitchen diner so all my equipment is neatly organised. Even the dining room table is clear except for a small tray with a selection of pencils and an A3 drawing pad. As I have a lady who cleans for me I like to keep things as tidy as I can to make it easier for her.
My paints etc are all neatly stacked under beds and in cupboards, this is my darling husband's doing, he's very neat, the only thing which annoys me is that he keeps moving things around so I never know where things are, he files everything then even he forgets what he's done with stuff. xx
