I don't think there is a 'normal' for what you went through friend, so I can't answer answer your question. But welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will find people who have been through experiences equally dramatic, so tell us how you are managing now and whether there is any particular thing that would help you.

Hello and welcome. I think it takes a long time to get your head around a sudden and drastic change in your health. It’s a traumatic experience, especially when it requires a lengthy stay in the hospital. And then your situation has changed from having a certain level of health and ability to basically learning how to live again. That’s a huge amount of stuff to deal with! I don’t know if it’s normal, I don’t know what is normal, but I do think it takes a lot of time to start getting your head around these things. Do you live near your daughter or other family? Do you have someone who can help you with your concerns? I hope so. And you can always come to this forum for support and friendship and advice 👍

Hello and welcome to the site, I hope you are gradually regaining your strength back. Thats an unusual thing to happen and so sudden, it will take time to adjust to the change in your health. Maybe later some one will come on who has had a similar experience. Pneumonia twice in such a short time will leave you weak so take care you don't get any infections. Speak to you again soon hopefully best wishes.

I feel for you in all that you are going through. What a journey you have had. Sadly I do not have any answers to your questions. Know that you can share here and it is a very helpful and kind group of people. My very best wishes that you are not with a permanent trach or stoma and bag and also that you are regaining strength after your lung collapse and pneumonia. All tough stuff to deal with.

You have really been through it. Pneumonia really takes it out of you.apart from everything else that happened to you.

Have you considered asking your GPabout CBT? It might help you sort your thoughts out.it helped me after I got my diagnosis.it doesn’t change your situation, but it helps change the way you think about it. Take care
