hi folks ... since January i have been suffering from loss of hearing in one ear with a gentle wooshing noise there permanently ( tinnitus ? )

I have felt dizzy & disoriented with nausea ( now stable )... i was led to believe it might be Labrynthitis or Vestibular neuritis which bothers the inner ear by the cochlea ...

my worry is as i wont see any E.N.T doctor till late May & i worry that my hearing may not return ... has anyone else ever had this happen to them ? ... ty for reading this.

Hello, I have tinnitus but don’t feel dizzy or nauseous. I have a friend who has labyrinthitis with vertigo and nausea so you could have that too.

Have you asked if your appointment could be brought forward? Might be worth a try. Good luck to you. Xxxxx

Hi there, try not to worry too much, easier said than done l know.

The wooshing in ears and dizzy feelings come to me when unwell and on high dose medication.

My hearing has been damaged by previous antibiotics such as Azithromycin. You must stop it and report if getting any ringing in ears. Was then switched to dif family of antibiotics. Hearing did not right its self but use aids in bith ears and can manage without them too.

(Lost before Xmas and not reappeared).

Other head and ear noises clear up when better.

Hope this helps...

Good luck

Janice....

Hi dizzyfairy, it sounds more like an infection, go back and ask your doctor to check your ears properly, they could give you some antibiotic ear drops, or you could try travel tablets that contain cinnazerine which helps vertigo/labrynithitis, if I run out of my tablets this is what I use for labrythinitis until I can get to the doctor. I suffer from this but when it comes on I cant get out of bed or stop being sick. Hope you get better soon x
