I was hospitalised in November from pain in my side - they thought it was appendicitis

Now I get it very often and I have developed and it is very very painful when I cough

I have got x rays and ultrasounds but they can’t see anything wrong

Anyone ever experienced this or know what it might be

Recently I posted about pain that I sometimes have when I rise from my bed, chair, etc.. Another poster suggested that my pain may be attributed to "long lungs," a result of copd and other respiratory conditions, and about how they can press against one's diaphragm to create pain. This is excruciating pain. Others here know much more than I and will be very helpful. J

Some others have spoken of chest pain, I have a persistent pain on my left lower side. I had a lung abscess and bronchiectasis. I did a lot of reading, while MDs said it was a common complaint, they could not identify a specific cause. I suspect it is related to the diaphragm, intercostal muscles (between the ribs), and/or some pleural inflammation that persists.

For me, it seems to get worse when I accumulate mucus, improved somewhat with clearance, sometimes it needs antibiotics to clear it.

I was thinking it might be bronchitis but I’m not sure.Doctors are blaming it on period cramps but it is most painful when coughing or breathing heavily which makes me think it might be king related

I have pain on right side. Saw gp on Tuesday. He thinks it is muscle pain, probably from coughing when I had chest infection earlier. I have co codamol and Naproxen. He says it takes around 4 weeks to heal. When coughing press cushion to side to stop muscle strain.

Hi, I probably didn't read your post well enough. On this forum I just think of lung stuff. Could you have strained any of the abdominal muscles or a hip flexor (front muscle)? Sometimes a spinal disc is worse with coughing. Maybe muscular - can you have a physiotherapist see you? Is the pain tender to touch anywhere? Ovaries?
