Depending on what level of oxygen there are softer and more flexible cannula. Speak to your supplier. You could also try water based creams to ease the rubbing

I have used Aveeno which is made from oats and is water based. It is really good. Hope this helps.

A water based lubricating gel is good such as KY Jelly, I prefer one I get from a £1 shop. steer clear of anything with petroleum in.

E45 helps dont use vaseline the engine says not good for cannula no explanation. But I do have a problem with the mask I have to wear at night or during day if any problems. I wake up about 4.30am all round my mouth feels dry and crusty and my mouth is so dry back of throat becomes sore.tried relieve and others take fresh water yo bed and have fun removing my mask just to get a sip of water which I swish round my mouth not much happens does anyone have the same problems any ideas please I need some sleep. Hubby does try and help which then he is grumpy.hrlp what is there I can do

Vaseline is petroleum jelly. petrol and oxygen = FIRE.

That sounds like an urban myth. Is there any data to back it up? Wouldn't there still be a need for a spark???

Ask your oxygen nurse or ring BLF after 9am Monday.

Yes, a spark would be required, but you can easily get these from static on clothes, bedclothes, any metal object you touch (door handles etc), so yes, petroleum jelly is not a good idea and whilst a fire is unlikely, it is not impossible so a risk best avoided.

I use a nebuliser 4 times a day and have not heard of any shortage of Ipratropium. I’m in Devon. Since I have been on this and salbutamol my COPD is much improved.

I am not on Oxygen but have tried it in the past & found the nasal cannula very uncomfortable but was in hospital yesterday on oxygen after an operation and it was fine. Try another brand. It’s a pity they don’t do a mask.

Giood lick.

What about a face mask? I can't use nasal cannula and so use a mask 24/7. Regards Rib

can you on a pulser ? ambulatory oxygen ?

Ambulatory tanks and home mains powered condenser are all I have been prescribed. Nebulizers run off of the tanks.
