Had a great couple of days!

Just had a lovely night away in a nice hotel in Kent (a Travelzoo half price deal - £79 for two, lovely evening meal and full English breakfast - bargain!) and we were lucky with the weather so spent the second day looking around Chartwell (National Trust) - home of Winston Churchill. All very interesting, but the best bit was that I managed to walk up slopes and steps without getting too out of breath. I've been really struggling for the last few years (COPD, bronchiectasis and asthma - and vertigo!) but have had a five month break from the vertigo so have been able to exercise more. It's paying off! I have been infection free since last July (was having antibiotics and prednisolone every month for a couple of years) and now the vertigo is giving me a break I feel like a new woman! I still don't feel like doing much housework - but then I never did - haha! but I do have the energy to go handbag shopping later. Just wanted to share so people who are struggling may feel there's light just around the corner for them too. xx Moy

A born again Moy, eh? Wonderful! I'm sure that will inspire folk to battle on regardless.😊

I hope so, Don. I've taken a lot of comfort from this site over the years and the reason I didn't give up was because people wrote of better times ahead - and your wonderful poetry, of course! xx Moy

That deal sounded like very good value for money Moy,i trust they gave you the wind free suite :) also nice to hear that your mobility has improved giving your plenty of stamina for that retail therapy.

Ski's and Scruff's xx

It wasn't quite a wind free suite, Skis, but at least the wind was outside the building not inside! It had gone by the morning so made walking easier. It's great to have some energy again - not that I'll be doing a marathon any time soon!! xx Moy

When I was first diagnosed with COPD etc, I had a bad foot due to a large bunion and my walking was impeded. I had the bunion operated on which was a great success. Aha! I thought - get out and get some exercise. But then the vertigo got so bad that I couldn't walk far. Having a break from that is the biggest change for me and means I can push myself to go a bit further without the worry of getting back. It's great! Thanks for your post. xx Moy

So pleased for you Moy, vertigo is horrid, I suffered from a similar problem, labrynthitus for 4 years and was dreadful, I still have problems trying to walk a straight line. The weekend break in Kent sounded just what the doctor ordered, great you managed to walk so well, enjoy this period, isnt it just wonderful to feel normal again, hugs x
