Agreed to finally go ahead with the valves yesterday I'd been putting it off for the last two years. So only a fresh scan within the next 4weeks then it's all systems go.

Nervous and exciting times ahead

Hugs I was offered a couple of years ago but was managing fairly well had regained weight and felt was too soon. But having bounced back a few times this time feels different been really struggling again. Starting desaturating walking and resting 02 averaging 92 so time to act. Been lucky enough to avoid oxygen so far

I have been on Oxygen for over 3 years Now. transplant list for 3 years,( Will be coming off the list in March) Want to travel Abroad to see my family. Had my Phone glued to my Ear far too long waiting for that Call. , My Consultant suggested the valves, so glad she did, I am doing more now than ever Before, apart from running etc. I wear a Fit Bit, and love The challenges that I Face every Day. Off to my Exercise Class in a Mo, then Shopping with Hubby, Mobile Oxygen and Mother In Law , She's my Friend. Good Luck Hun in all you Do. Love n Hugs xxxx

Can I ask what are these valves? Thanks in advance xx

1hopefuture profile image
1hopefuture in reply to Diane11270

They are a bit like a stent. Very very basically one way valves are placed into the lungs collapsing the damaged parts of the lung so that the air reaches the good parts of the lung more efficientently.

Look up endobrocal valves for severe emphysema.
