I am breathing far easier think it's the spiriva started that 31st January thank you for recommending I speak to my GP Who prescribed since being on this not sure if it's a coincidence I am getting hives if I scratch my skin ...but it has made such a difference to my breathing...I can walk fast and am not as breathless as I was in fact unless I excerpt myself like rushing around or doing step excercise I am not out of breath is that normal...

Hi Emily61 I too am on spiriva it too made me feel better once I was on it. I didn’t experience hives but I would try and speak to your gp’s asthma nurse who maybe able to help. I just think that spiriva has obviously helped your breathing therefore you are less breathless. Xx😊

Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Speak to the nurse or gp about the hives Emily61.

And remember “ baby steps “ not rushing around!

It long to wait for your appointment now. Good luck with that.🙂

I’m fine thankyou Emily61.

You sound much better in yourself, so that’s good. Sorry I thought your PR was this week. Just one tip for you. I did my first class on Wednesday. Then did some exercise at home on Friday and yesterday. The trick is to warm up before you start. I only did a few minutes which clearly was not enough and could feel the muscles shouting at me last night so had to get in a Radox bath.😂 So I must take my own advice and take baby steps myself. Have a good day and let us know how your appt goes.

Good wishes.

So very pleased to hear that your breathing is hugely better, Emily. Excellent! My hubby too is new to spiriva but no problem with hives, and his breathing is much better too. The side effects may settle as your body gets used to a new drug, but you’d better ask your GP or asthma nurse to be sure. Looks like another trip to the surgery.....doh! xx

I keep asking how will pulmonary rehabilitation benefit me ....

Blackbird6 profile image
Blackbird6 in reply to

It's a course of exercises that they give you like a circuit training type. You go at your pace then after exercise you sit for an hour with coffee or tea and the nurses have a chat re medications diets any needs that ppl with lung conditions have you will get to know other ppl in your area ...after PR course is complete you can then apply for a course at your local gym which is prescribed by your GP xx

I take spirivia and it helps me out a lot it's great that you are taking it. I started taking that a few months back less symptoms but it's a great medication to be on
