Thankyou Penny there's no hill it's all flat forest what you see as a hill is the skyline but your right it does very much look like one . Perfect afternoon went in van with a flask and a mince pie 😂😂

Long story Blackbird6. But I think it is a beautiful one.
Severe depression when forced to give up my adored Fox terrier cross Jack Russell, Whisky, who we had for 9 years in our family.
Gp said “Go get yourself a cat, you’ve just lost a member of your family.”
Decided I wanted a white chinchilla cat with green eyes to make me feel human again. My sons tried to dis suade me due to the cost.
Truth is, I did and still do, believe in the power of positive thinking and affirmations. I knew what I wanted and that was that.
When feeling down, I would drive to the animal rescue centre and walk around looking at the cats and dogs.
So off I went, and what did I see curled up in a tiny cage?
Exactly that. She was a year old and a pedigree! Long white hair tipped with silver and emerald green eyes.
I called her Seuss after the Cat in the Hat books and she was the love of my life, after my sons of course, until I left SA to return here when I had to leave her behind.
A photo of her hangs in the bathroom next to the loo so I am sure to remember her every single day.
Sadly my lease does not permit me to keep animals where I live.
But one day I will live elsewhere and be able to have my animals again.
If I knew how to insert a photo I would do so.
Perhaps you can assist please?

Oh my that's certainly tainted with a slight sadness and I hope I didn't stir up any emotions that upset you . I'm glad you had your times with Seuss and still have an apt reminder. You didn't put anyone to sleep I read it twice to be honest 😊
To post pictures is quite simple when you write a post underneath there is a box that says post picture click on that and then you have to select the pic you want to upload from your own phone or pc gallery it's only takes a minute or so have a try . Oh so sad losing a loved member of the family, because thats what they are, another member of the family, who give unconditional love in abundance, but you also have lots of good memories. My mum had two dogs and I can still laugh at some of the antics they got upto, especially when they had their mad moments, or of going bonkers when visiting the beach, just like children really. Thanks for sharing Whitechinchilla x

I'm not sure if it's just me, but has anyone else noticed how the sky/clouds/atmosphere has been changing over the past few years? Whether it's Global Warming, I don't know, but I find stunningly beautiful skies like this are becoming more common, as is seeing unusual cloud formations and light phenomena?
I happen to be lucky enough to live in one of the British National Parks, where the scenery is stunning in its own right, but to have it lit in a similar fashion as this photo is becoming the norm? Only yesterday evening, my SO took me to a local vantage point, where he photographed 'the golden hour' over the snowy hillsides. It was an incredible sight!

I hope you haven't been hit too badly by this cold spell, which we would have only described as 'normal' 30+ years ago? But the temperatures have really gone very low! Here in mid Wales, the temperature was -2° last night, but the 'real feel' was -12°!!! 🥶 The rest of the time has been unseasonably warm? Only about 2 weeks ago, I noticed sparrows beginning to nest under the eaves of a neighbouring house? I only hope and pray that they haven't started laying yet, as food will be hard to find! 😱

Hi had a smattering of snow at 4pm yesterday and then through the night it landed and now has all but disappeared but very grey skies overhead seems to make everything feel heavy . Totally agree with it being very mild this time of year my daffodils are up alongside winter pansies not great it's way to early . I hope your birds don't start to lay but if they do I'm sure nature will take care of itself the way it does . Stay warm safe and sound take it easy 😊😊

We had about 3-4" of very fine, powdery snow which hasn't melted, as the temps have hardly reached 0° all day! I believe the roads are clear (I can't get out much, and can't see the roads from our windows), but as the temps start to fall this evening, will be very dangerous!
Our much harsher climate here means that we only have snowdrops so far, but I'm sure we'll 'catch up' with you at some point? As you say - nature will take care of itself? I do hope it's soon.... 🙏 xx
