You do have my sympathy. It’s very easy to tell someone what they should do... yet not follow that advice yourself.

I was in the same predicament last week. Waited too long and landed in hospital. Talk about shooting ones self in the foot!

Flu type virus, despite having the flu jab. Chest x Ray came back clear. Lungs/asthma just decided to join the party. Nebs and prednisolone were the order of the day. Gradually my PF has gone back to 580 from a low of 377. Still coughing - but able to breathe and sleep again.

So go to the docs!

My chest has been at me last two weeks, had chest/flu thing after Christmas, been more breathless too. Not wheezy but if I was I would be straight to the doctor. Could be change of weather, or chest infection for you. Don't know about you but I was very good in December, that's why I'm putting it down to change of weather. Can't sleep properly at the moment either, exhausted..

That sounds worrying to me. It must be difficult if you are working but your health comes before anything. If you leave it and it should worsen then you will be off work anyway. Do look after yourself and get to your gp., or a walk-in clinic. Hope you get answers and treatment very soon.

Violetlynn - as a long term asthmatic, you should know that worsening asthma should never be ignored. Go and see the doctor immediately. Also, please ask to see the asthma nurse for advice on managing your disease. Two key things are inhaler technique and peak flow. You can get a spacer on prescription to help with the former and peak flow meters are also available on prescription. You need to know what your normal peak flow is so make sure you have a record of this once you are well. The nurse will explain about this.

My advice would be to follow your instincts. Early December I felt dreadful, and breathing was even more difficult than usual (emphysema/lung tumour). GP's advice was I had a virus, lot of it about, and take paracetamol. Few weeks later had a call from the hospital, after a recent chest x-ray had been reviewed, and told I had pneumonia.

Hi. I would think any chest pain would be worth a visit to the doctor. (Sooner rather than later) take care.

It would be wise to go to the doctors if no appointments try the walk in centre.be wise to check it out it may just be the end of your cold.

Could be an infection, also chest pain, especially if occurring when taking a deep breath and shortness of breath are symptoms of pleurisy, so it is best to see your GP.

Hi, I would suggest you go see your GP, there a proper test can done and the right meds organised. Don't leave it, lungs are precious and need looking after.
