Happy Winter Solstice Day

This means spring is on it's way.

When once again we can cast a clout

As soon as we see May is out.

No longer feeling out of breath

Cos old Jack Frost will then have left.

So look forward to those days of fun

Even if you have a frozen bum.

Thank you, feeling positive is so important, especially when we still have winter to get through, but we are 'on the right side'. 🙂

I am certainly counting the days til spring comes home and the fragrant colorful flowers show up one morning and we all look out at the newborn birds learning to fly and all the brown & yellow grass turns green again👍Much like Ski I’m pretty bah humbug about the whole holiday scene BUT this year there’s a new lipstick called Spank Me Santa and so that’s all I want for Christmas even though I’ll likely never use it but I LOVE that name an it’ll make me laugh all year😂😂😂

in reply to Sandyeggo

I could well do with out Christmas, but I do like the effect that it has on others. Even on folk who seem to be miserable for the rest of the year. I bet there are plenty of men who would be willing to play Santa for you over Christmas. 😉

We shouldn't wish our lives away, but I will be glad to see those Spring flowers. 🙂

Who was it said - "as the days grow longer, the cold gets stronger" ?

in reply to Lyd12

“The New Year now begun, as the Days began to lengthen, so the cold began to strengthen” was cited in print in 1631."

Wow! That's going back a long way. To think of all those generations of people dreading the cold winter, no central heating then!

I used to love winter when I was a lad. Out on the beach with the dogs, no tourists about, one year the sea froze over! Recent winters have been much milder but a lot harder to deal with.
