Consultation is Scheduled Wednesday December 12,2018 I’m excited as well as the bit nervous. They have acquired my health history I just had another breathing test which my DLCO was 21%, and I did my walk test which I was able to finish drop to 77 starting at 94. I’m in hopes my DLCO is incorrect I don’t feel it’s that low I can breathe walking talk yes I have my episodes which are striking but I’ll see what their tests show me at. Currently I am able to play golf usually twice a week to sometimes three I have my portable concentrator sometimes Levon even during golf swing to keep myself balanced the best I can and recover after a golf swing. My doctor says that’s a good thing on my side considering I’m also a three time cancer survivor I’m in hope STANFORD knows I’m a fighter and I will battle the best I can to stay healthy and strong as I can. Dlco or fev1%. That seems awfully low for dlco. My fev1% wa 25 last April. It’s beendropping about 3% a year. My dlco was 92 in 2010 and last April it was 69.

It reads her DLCO is 21%. Have you been tested for Alpha one? Or do you still smoke or around 2nd hand smoke, chemicals...etc.....

I’m alpha 1 pi-ZZ. I’m 57 and quit smoking 34 yrs ago.

I thought you might be Alpha One....do you take the special treatments for Alpha one...?

Yes. I’m on spiriva, albuterol, symbicort, leflunimide, gabapentin, cymbalta, hydrocodone, prednisone, zpak regimen 3x a week. Heartcpills for pvc’s.

Yours, as well as all lung diseases are so passed due of a cure....after reading some research papers I think 2019...Will be kinder and more hopeful for us!!

No I do not take the augmentation nor am I going to accept aclung transplant. My research and other friends who are on augmentation have progressed faster or at least as fast as myself. A lung transplant, my opinion only is a double edge sword.

I have not been tested for Alpha One. What is that? I did smoke very occasionally 20+ years ago. But I was in the Bar & Restaurant Management and Bartender for 20+ years. Secondhand smoke, I also had radiation treatment for breast cancer that can cause IPF. My FEV1 is Actual *1.25 with %Pred *42. Whatever all that means..

Hi and not too sure if we've met yet but your wonderful Christmas Tree photograph,puts a face to your name. May I add just how happy you both look and you are certainly a formidable woman,still playing golf and truly enjoying life. Good for you girl. Dont ponder on the figures of your DCLO or FEV's as you are as well as you feel but just keep listening to your body and take rescue meds as and when necessary.

You are certainly a true SURVIVOR!!!

How rude was I @Rhonda2121, will you come back and tell us about your consultation at Stanford tomorrow? Obviously I wish you well and hope everything goes ok. I'm wondering quite what Stanford is. I've googled and its a very prestigious medical school/faculty...im presuming that you are in the USA or am I totally off track? Either way please do come back and tell us how your day went. Thank you everyone, we are here at Stanford Chest/Pulmonary Clinic. I see the doctor very soon. Brought note pad, so will do my best to take notes. 🤪 Looking forward to great information and help. Will definitely let everyone know afterwards, to be helpful to anyone else. Breath well 😊😘
