Session No 10, Pulmonary rehab.

10 down ,4 to go. And to tell you the truth I nearly didn't get out of the car in the Hostpital car park! , it would have been so easy to just admit defeat and go back home.

The mucus problem is causing me serious grief, I generally have these symptoms of not being able to move a pug of phlegm in my throat, If I think about it , it isn't really stopping me from breathing,it just feels as if it might, so while trying to concentrate on the excercises Im doing ,I find I'm more than a little anxious that this plug of phlegm is going to come into my windpipe just at the time when I could do with it being at its clearest .(I hope that makes sense. )

Anyway I got into the session thanks to the lovely Lilian, did a few warm ups, did all weights straight away, then 4 short walks like Wednesday, then down to the wall bars for heel lifts, and session No 10 over.

Incidentally the second half of the session was a lecture on mucus removal and chest clearance. So it's a good job I attended. Got till next Wed now to improve at home again.

See you all next week, have a good weekend,( come on Lewis Hamilton 👍) .

Love

You did it then Chris, thank goodness for that. I wish you well with clearing your chest and I’m sure you’ll be fine by next week. Take care.

Will post update about Pete later. Xxxx

It’s so good you found the courage to go because it paid off (it feels like karma?) Phlegm is horrible. I’ve watched the videos that people have posted on here about phlegm and getting rid of it but it’s probably a lot better having it explained to you and talked about in person. Thanks for the latest instalment and good luck with working on things at home before your next session. I hope you have a good weekend 👍

Hi Canalchris - good to hear positive thoughts and actions on our common illness - have you ever thought of getting one of those so called " Shaker" device ? - looks like a pipe ! ... a few puffs on that and the mucus really starts to shift ! - it sets up a vibration , in your tubes ! , and slowly , up comes the mucus ...= just a thought = good luck ..!

Hi saw your post on mucus, Have you tried Carbocisteine to shift it? if not get your GP to prescribe it. Then use an acapello, it's like a warbling machine you "huff" into it and that also helps move the gunge there is also a very small unit which I was given by my Rehab nurse it's a small tube into which you "huff" but fewer "huffs" to obtain a result it's made by clement-clarke.com, it's worked wonders for me in moving the mucus and it fits easily into a pocket or handbag. Try it.

Thanks for your suggestions.
