Session 8, Pulmonary rehab.

Well I have to say this is a roller coaster of a course for me personally. Still feeling a bit nervous as leaving home time of 12:30 drew near, ( as usual ). Not having the strength in my legs to stand and do the warm up excercises I normally go straight onto the bike. Determined to beat Wednesday's time of 5 1/2 and 5 min rides, I slogged on to do 2x7 min rides. On the second ride I just kept challenging myself to do " Just 15 seconds more, then just 15 seconds more and repeated that from about 5 mins onwards. So very pleased with a total time of 14 mins, and another improvement of 3:30.

Did all the weights , but failed on the walk when I did the first section down to the wall bars but struggled to return , overcoming the breathlessness and forging on through. Instead I bottled out halfway back and had to sit in someone else's chair while I got my breath back.😤😡😡.

Walked back to the bars and did my heel lifts and there's another session over and done.

Got a break now till Wed, must must must walk further and for longer at home. I am going to master this.

Thanks for listening , take care everyone and hope you have a good weekend.

Regards. Chris.x

You’re doing great Chris but each time is different so don’t be too cross with yourself. Keep going but steadily.

Wishing you well. Xxxxx

There will always be disappointments, it is in the nature of our condition, no two days are the same. I always push to my limits, but some days are better than others, you have to accept this and then you find that your limit is a lot greater than you first imagine. You have to take each day on it's own merits. The danger lies in taking your low days as normal and not pushing past it, ie lethargy.

Well done. try not to be too hard on yourself. You are doing realy well and each time you are doing more than the last improvement will happen slowly but if you dont give up it definatly will happen. You should be realy pleased with yourself 🏃‍♂️

Thanks for the update. Every day is different and having a rest mid exercise is no bad thing. Your determination and motivation are inspirational. I know I should exercise more and eat less but when it comes to it I often struggle to get motivated. I have lots of good intentions in my mind but when it comes to actually doing it I struggle to find that self discipline. I do keep trying to motivate myself and am always inspired by people here. Thank you 👍

We used to rest and perhaps have a drink of water between exercises, I think this is normal. I just need the motivation to carry on at home. The spirits willing.....!!

A good strong cup of coffee and anxiety medicine first thing in the morning really helps me.
