Oxygen levels

Hya, I have posted a few time in the past but I'm going for my oxygen review next Monday and I'm getting very anxious about this, would it be normal to turn my rate up or the number of hours I'm use my Oxygen, I'm on 2ltr 16hrs per day.

I feel I may need some adjustments but I'm so scared of being kept in hospital or being told they can turn it up for some reason, I know I really do worry but can't help it, sorry for being miserable xx

Hi

Oxygen requirements may change over time, hence the review don’t see the need to stay in hospital. Oximeter Test, and blood test if required can be done without admission.

The thing is to stop being anxious, this can cause misleading results.

One one of my Ambulitory reviews, I was in such a state, they had to cancel appointment and rescheduled. Pulse rate was up, O2 levels going up and down. No amount of Ventolin would fetch it under control. Once I had left I calmed down and went shopping no problems.

Try to look on it as whatever the result of your assessment and whatever the requirement is for you personally, it will be in your best interest, to keep you healthy and stable, and to keep you out of hospital by assessing and keeping your blood oxygen levels good.

Hi Diane,

Is there anything specific you are nervous about during the test? xx 🌿

Hya yes there is, I'm fine with the actual testing ie blood from the ear lobe and stuff but it's the results, I'm scared that my oxygen levels are dropping and they can't up the ltrs or the hours I'm on oxygen and then have to be admitted to hospital there and then, I'm a very anxious person when it comes to anything medical, I have been the same all my life but I seem to be getting worse as I get older. xx
