I'm on Doxy and I don't, I have had slight tummy cramps and I am bit itchy though but I often get itchy with Abs.

Are these helping whatever infection you have? If they're not then maybe it's time to change anyway? If you feel they've done good and the dr isn't worried with your side effects then try carry on I but there are alternatives you could try.

Can I ask what inhalers you're on? I was on fostair for 6 months which made me very ill but the worst was the itching, it felt like I was being eaten alive by fleas or something. I wasn't on antibiotics though. Until the fostair I'd never heard of itching as a side effect of medication. You're certainly not moaning. Sometimes the side effects are so awful they actually feel worse than the ailment they're supposed to be treating. I hope you feel better soon 💐

Hi Hugryhufflepuff

I'm not on any inhaler gp gave me one by mistake qvar 100 micrograms aerosol brown inhaler by mistake he was supposed to give a nasel steriod spray which I eventually got mot used the inhaler as Lung consultant didn't mentioned anything about an inhaler but just feel tired with everything just been to my local Asda drove there now shattered I breathe deeply to cope with pain just want to go to sleep. Not used the inhaler just wondering whether to.

Thanks

How did your doctor give you qvar by mistake? I don’t know if you should take it if you were given it by mistake. It can’t be your inhaler causing the itching though. I don’t know what itching means or what it’s a sign of, if you see what I mean (I would really like to know!) I really hope you feel better though, it sounds like you’re having a horrible time, hopefully your doctor will find abs that work for you and don’t have these awful side effects.

Hi Hugryhufflepuff

He didn't read the letter properly as he was running late with his appointments when he told me I didn't know until I got a copy of the letter from the consultant then rang consultants secretary to double check and the gp rang me and apologised. I'm going to stick out the abs just the gurgly tummy and cold feet got pain management on Monday

Thanks

So relieved to read your post about the itching with Fostair. It is driving me insane and usually all over my upper back which isn't the easiest of places to reach. I will mention this itching again to my GP as he he hasn't commented to date. In addition I have terrible pins and needles sensation in my neck on the left back side of it. These things are quite worrying but if it is just a matter of changing my treatment then that's fantastic.

Like googeymac1 I have blamed my dear little cat and have been guilty of pushing him off my lap sometimes, that wont be happening any more.

Me too like yourself and googeymac1 I blamed my cat and wouldn’t carry her around, and gave her flea and worm treatments. Hopefully the itching will stop with you too if you stop fostair. I had never heard of itching as a side effect of anything before. It was so horrible, it really did feel like I was being eaten alive by a thousand biting insects. I also got pins and needles in my left foot, but I still get that, no idea what that’s about, sometimes it’s so bad I can’t put any weight on my foot so I have to wait until it stops before I can walk. But the itching has stopped, thankfully, it really was unbearable. I did mention it several times to the nurse though when I was still on Fostair but she didn’t acknowledge it at all. I hope a change in your treatment will also stop the itching for you too.

My GP has prescribed me Calrithramycin but I have been scared to try them as I am on a statin and a good few years over the magic age of 65. Is anyone taking these and still having statins ? I am also covered on my arms and hands in large purple/black bruises making the skin sore, does anyone else have this reaction please? My GP tells me it is the daily 10mg prednisalone. The skin in the area of the bruises is sore.

Hello, I found I couldont tolerate dozy as made me incredibly nauseous and feel very unwell. The pain sounds like it could be infection though so do keep going back if the antibiotics aren’t working. Hope you get better soon
