The feeling of being unwell stems from the immune system building new antibodies from the 4 in 1 vaccine. Your wife had the 3 in 1.

Take usual precautions though, protection isn't instant & takes approximately two weeks - that's why some folks think the flu jab gave then 'flu!

If you're still unwell in a few days contact your respiratory nurse or GP.

I was fine after mine apart from tenderness at the site of the jab and I had the 4 in 1. My husband had the 3 in 1 and he said he felt ill.

I had mine a week ago but unfortunately I was going down with the cold virus everyone seems to have but I didnt know that at the time! I had sore arm and chills for a few days but i think otherwise ok-this cold has taken ten days so far and now on anti-biotics.

Hope you get over any side effects quickly!

I had my flu jab on 29.9. It was the Quad one. Arm a little more sore than usual but I think that this was due to the way it was given. The jab cannot give you flu but unfortunately, it will not stop any bugs you might already have brewing and it can seem coincidental that you end up ill, seemingly after the flu jab. It is worth getting the pneumonia jab as well. It will not stop every strain but since having it, I have only been in once since, whereas before it was more or less a yearly problem through most of my life.

Hi AnnaMT, i'm glad you said about the pneumonia jab, I had it about 2 or 3 years ago and not had one since, forgot all about it,my resp nurse is coming next week I will ask her why i haven't had one! its more than likely down to cost cuts on NHS,Thank you again and take care.

Unless you are severely immuno-compromised, eg high viral load, low CD4 count, one dose is usually sufficient, so not cost cutting😏

I had the under 65 flu jab yesterday, no problems except for a brief ache in the left shoulder half an hour after having the jab in the left arm.
