You can be scared and brave at the same time, which is patently true of yourself. You will be in my thoughts and look forward to hearing of your improvement. Just think about how scary life would be without the op.

I know my friend I suppose it's only natural to be scared .thank you for your support xxx

Thank you for your kind words xx

I will be thinking of you and will be remotely holding your hand. You are at the best hospital and they wouldn't do the op. If they did not think it was safe for you! And definitely would not do it if they thought it would not benefit you. Lots of caring hugs to you. Please let us know your experience when you are able. I am sure lots of us on here would like to know more about this procedure. So you would be helping us too.

Yes I know and I truly appreciate your thoughts and kindness .I will of course keep you all updated .Thanks again xx

Hi Babs.

You’re bound to be feeling apprehensive but think of the improvements ahead to your breathing!!

Medical treatment is always scarey but we pull through, feel very glad it’s over and then the benefits start!

You’re certainly lucky to be in the best medical hands....stay strong, I’m sure they’ll make you comfortable throughout....the best hospitals do!

Let us know how things go. We’re all thinking about you, with fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Babs, well you were always favourite to beat me in the race for treatment, though it has been a close call so i will watch at the starting line as you do lap after lap of recovery until you cross the line and claim your prize which will be a body enriched with far more oxygen than you have now,i hope eventually to catch up with my long distance running friend so don't go to fast please.:)

You’ll be fine Babs! From my memory of it, try to get off the morphine ASAP, it gave me constipation, nausea and loss of appetite. You probably won’t be in a position to appreciate the lovely food they offer. Also they’ll get you walking up the corridor when you are still in hdu, even though you’ll be very woozy and not with it. I well remember struggling into the bathroom with my chest drain tube and jar, try to get family visitors to help you shower, it’s a bit difficult. Try not to worry, you’ll be home before you know it. All the best, Laura.

Greetings --me again.

I was told that I'd feel lousy for the first 24 hours, until the drains were removed, then feel better and better, very quickly. So there you go...

Then I couldn't have it done so I got valves instead -- so I hope that your frost 24 hours are good :)
