Nasal Cannula advice- nose crumbling and nose bleeds

Has anyone found an alternative comfortable soft cannula, other than standard issue straight or curved prong? Due to long term use the inside of my nose is crumbling away and am suffering daily nosebleeds, as well as pain (,just to add to numerous others!) Needless to say oxygen provider, respiratory nurse, gp etc all been of no use!

Any advice gratefully received, thank you.

Cut it so it won't catch and at a slight angle

I have noticed som3 of my cannulas are harder than others. Do you use a lubricant in your nose? My oxygen provider recommended ky jelly!

I had the exact same problem but I now coat the prongs with a tiny amount of KY Jelly and it really has helped me, not had a nose bleed in several months now.

My husband’s respiratory nurse suggested a humidifier bottle be fitted to his oxygen concentrator could help eradicate nosebleeds. He has had one now for over a month and has had no problems since. He also says he’s not suffering with a dry mouth nearly so much. This must obviously be supplied and fitted by the oxygen supplier and may not be appropriate for everyone, but it may be worthwhile investigating.
