Curious little houseguest

I'm doing a little poor man's remodel ( moving furniture ) and discovered this little beastie crawling up the wall. I would have named it Esmeralda but felt that perhaps that was presumptuous as it would not be staying long.

It's quite a sunny day here, so my guest has been sent out to enjoy the garden.

Cheers everyone.

Hello TomTitTot . I rather like that name as I think it suits her. 😀 I bet it was very happy to get back out into fresh air and lots of munchy green things. xx 😊

Hi Caspiana, how are you doing? I rather suspect my little beastie will turn into some sort of magnificent moth. I shall have to do some googling...🤔

Hi Anne. 😀

I am doing okay. I was just awoken by a certain beast that sat by my bed , huge ears a flapping , staring at me until I got up to feed him. I call it the silent stare treatment!! 😒

It certainly is a very interesting creature, rather reminiscent of the Very Hungry Caterpillar book that I used to read to my kindergarteners many years ago. xx 🎶

🙋🏻 I'm so glad you're doing alright.

Chom was just telepathically sending you images of food in a bowl. After all, nutritional supplements first, then bathroom duties, then walkies and naps and snacks and treats and pets/pats and who's a good boy and food in a bowl all over again...

I googled, it's going to become a tiger swallowtail 🦋

Ah he/she/it looks rather cute and i am sure would make a very rewarding pet and maybe even blossom into your favourite winged companion.never mind i am sure it will make new chums in the garden before providing lunch for another of natures beauty's.

Now I shall worry half the night, as I've released my child to the elements, no helicopter parent, I.

He's fantastic! And so beautifully camouflaged; those big bug 'eyes' make him look very fearsome indeed! Then he turns into a beautiful butterfly! I love butterflies but moths have cuter faces, especially the big fat ones!

I once had the wonderful experience of watching what at first looked like a bee, shed its exoskeleton and slowly morph into a large moth.

I sat among the mosquitoes and caught it all on my iPhone (which sadly, someone deleted) It was exquisite! Ever so slowly watching it unfurl its wings. I never was able to discover its particular name, but as it was morphing, two eyespots appeared on its wings.

Moths are so beautiful. The camouflage... if ever anyone wonders where native peoples got their ideas one has only to observe the colourations of the insect world.

Had I not studied cultural anthropology, I think I might have perhaps minored in entomology.
