I am so so scared i can even sleep that much with how scared I am I get the feeling that something is wrong with me and my mother just thinks im becoming a hypochondriac. Last time I posted the doctor identified it as pleurisy well my other doctor then said it wasnt and it was just some pleural symptoms, however the ibuprofen upset my stomach so I was prescribed Omeprazole, but then that gave me headaches and at one point confusion so I stopped taking them, but now after over a week of not taking them i still get headaches and my chest still hurts (sometimes on the left and sometimes on the right) but I am so scared and my dumb self googled symptoms yet again and it petrified me, at the moment im just wanting it all to be over with I just want to be ok again I cant stand this anymore and I dont want to go to my doctors out of fear that they will say its nothing serious again, I feel like there is a problem but then I am scared of if I really am a hypochondriac, I dont know what to do I recently turned 18 and all I wanted was to be fine again but now I just flared up my anxiety more, please if anyone can help me please tell me what I should do I dont want to be in this situation anymore I just want to be healthy and fine again :'(

Hi Vecs! I don't think you're a hypochondriac, but I do think you've got a problem with anxiety which you need to discuss with your doctor. Just tell your doctor what you've said in this post and if you don't get some help I think it's time to change doctor's. Sorry to sound harsh, but I do think you ned help - you are much too young and life is too good for you to spend your time in such an anxious state. I am sending you many good wishes and hope to hear that you have had some help - do let us know please!

I understand how you feel, and you need to trust your doctors. Give it some time, get out side and get some sun. Meditate and focus on your breathing. In a few weeks if the symptoms have not changed, go back to the doc.

Hello Vecs! It sounds to me that you don't feel good, you tell Mom and she doesn't take you seriously! You see your Doc, he says you have pleurisy and another Doc says No. No wonder your scared. So he orders you a med for heartburn. I think the second Doc is thinking it is Acid indigestion. If it is are you drinking a lot of pop? Foods like Hot dogs, balony can cause indigestion. Look up foods that can cause acid reflux and have you been eating a lot of it? Also Anxiety runs in my family too..there are different approaches that you can do. Meditation, Yoga, or meds. First, start with pop or food, could it be that? You know when you feel good and when you don't. don't allow anyone to say your a hypochondriac! Hugs Janet127

I dont drink any pops and i watch my diet ever since i got sent to hospital on suspected heart problems before, (this was when the problems first started) and ever since then ive been fine but i do suffer with acid reflux so that coupled with the ibuprofen was a problem on my stomach. But what i am really scared of now is the constant headaches and the chest pain im still getting coupled with some stomach pain from time to time and thank u for the concern and message it means a lot at this time i dont normally speak to anyone apart from one or two friends and even they seem a bit worried but are trying to help me with the anxiety. I will make sure to keep everyone updated on it if anything else happens.

Hi this does sound like health anxiety which is surprisingly common. There are several sites on here for anxiety so I recommend you join one. Have a look at the link below. x

Some doctors surgery have nurses that might be worth a chat with. Think i went through a stage of just seeing them when i needed info repeated and re assurance i was on the right track. Best wishes to you. My daughter had lots of fears and worries at your age too . Please chat to someone anxiety needs supporting. Best wishes to you.

Your headaches may be caused by your being really tense in the shoulders. Do you have a friend who could rub the back of your neck and the muscles over your shoulder blades? See if that helps.

I often get sore heads if I've been tense or using my tablet for several hours with my head bent too far forward. I use neck stretches to ease the bunched muscles.

If you're really anxious and not sleeping well, this would make that worse, so do also try the others' suggestion above and get some help for your anxiety.

All the best.

Just keep doing the best you can in the circumstances you find yourself in. It's all the little decisions we make through the day that help make things get better or worse. So keep trying to choose the option that will help you get a little bit better, not a little bit worse.

Hi, I am sorry you feel they way you do, but you are so young and shouldn't be such a worrier or have the anxiety you do. Stop reading the frightening things you are reading on the web they often report things that are quite unreasonable and give rise to many worries that are totally unsavoury & often a worst scenario, disregard it. The web is a wonderful thing but has it's faults spreading fear & unhappiness were it should not exist. Don't try to self diagnose go to see your GP and talk it through, at worst go see a councilor or even a private clinic. You do not need to suffer mentally which is what you seem to be doing. At a young age I had chest problems but treatment sorted them out, if your GP can't help go see another for a 2nd opinion.

Try not to fret, ou have so much life to lead.

Vecs,

Hi got your reply, hope the info helps a little, try to get the anxiety thing sorted to make life a little easier for you. Keeping it bottled will make you feel worse. Acceptance is difficult especially after a very full life but believe me once you know what you can & can't do and accept the situation for what it is you will feel better about it. Meanwhile there is a lot of research you can do but be careful on info from the web it can scare you as they usually report the worst scenario.

Btw I'm scared too. I've had symptoms for a few weeks now. Docs keep saying I'm good, just need to get courage to see pulmonologist. You are not alone!

I really hope it all goes well for u and seek the help u need and require. Go see the pulmonologist when u can to make sure all is good with u and good luck with anything and I really do hope all is well for u.

Thank you

Sounds like you have an anxiety problem, sweetheart, and that is a condition in itself. We can all worry ourselves silly sometimes over things that are more often than not , not sinister. If you had pleurisy the doc would have known for sure. being anxious will give you all sorts of aches, pains, headaches and especially very upset tummy problems because anxiety will make your tummy acidic and it's very painful when that happens. Look on the Internet for calming things like meditation exercises And try them out to settle your mind down a bit, I think you would enjoy it and the results could be good, worrying yourself too much about being ill will make you feel ill, daft as it sounds. Good luck, cherry pie xx

Hi Vecs, I think that anxiety is your main problem. It can cause all kinds of symptoms and pain. Do be up front with your dr. And get the nerves under control. Try going for walks, which will help with the anxiety, a few times a day. So dear, all will be good for you so let go of the nasties and LIVE

I hope all of u will see this comment now, it has been a while since i did anything here but i went to my GP and had another examination and a lung function test, so it turns out it was a misdiagnosis, my lungs are fine, my heart is fine, my head is fine but my ribcage is a bit messed up so i feel bad for even posting here all together but im just lucky. I have now been diagnosed with Costochondritis and i told my GP about the problems with omeprazole so now ive been prescribed 15mg of lensoprazole and i will be taking painkillers for the next month or so and going for checkups for my stomach. Thank u all of u who commented on this even if this is an irrelevant subject now and i still feel terrible about it when u could of all spent ur time elsewhere with people in a worse position i hope everyone gets answers and the treatment they need and i wish everyone good luck with any problems. Thank u all <3
