Hi everyone, not posted in a while, hope everyone is feeling as good as they can.

So today I've actually being able to cough, or should that be forced to cough for some reason after 8 months or so of not being able to.

I'm bringing up a hell of a lot of thick mucus, it's clear so I'm presuming that's a good thing, but boy am I dizzy with it.

All this time wanting to cough and now I am I want it to stop, can't really win sometimes πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

Gonna head the docs in the morning as I'm quite chesty, better safe than sorry.

Take care everyone πŸ™‹

Sounding like a dalek all day was fun for a day or two 😁.

Took my inhaler and I've stopped, but still chesty.

Never thought I'd miss a good cough

I can't stop coughing, wearing me out. Docs won't prescribe anything as need to get it up to avoid infections

It's a pain!

Your doctor can prescribe a mucolytic to help break up the mucous and make it easier to cough up. Carbocysteine is the usual choice. Two capsules three or four times a day. Nebulized saline might also help,

I'm taking carbosistein but no effect. I don't have a nebulizer. Can you buy these?

Yes you can but the doctor will have to prescribe the nebules. I therefore think it best to discuss it with the staff first. The respiratory nurse or physiotherapist might be the helpful. Nebulizers can be bought from pharmacies and online. Evergreen Nebulizers have a good range.

It was nice to actually be able to cough until it exhausted me and talking normally was nice too

I cough all the time, night and day despite nebulizers and inhalers. It keeps me exhausted. Very rarely can cough up anything but Dr. does bronchial washes.

That must be awful, half a day was bad enough, stay strong πŸ‘
