Hello, new diagnosed today

I found out today my Dr told me I have pleurisy. I got a steroid shot yesterday which seems to have eased the pain some, also gave me a cough medicine with codieneprometh which has eased the coughing some. I am not sure what caused it but had a sinus infection a few wks ago and got better after about a wk. But I have been having severe body aches for over a wk, I previously had been having bad aches all over my body prior to the sinus infection, not sure if this has anything to do with this new diagnosis, any ideas?

I had pleurisy when I was 17. I am now 79. It's an inflammation to the lining of the lung from what I understand. It's not a chronic condition so when it's better and it does get better. In those days there wasn't a lot they could do just take pain killers. It got better though, it just left some scarring. Haven't had it since. I do have COPD but that is caused by possibly smoking. Hope you feel better soon.
