Since starting Trimbow two months ago, my O2 levels have improved. Regularly in the 90s rather than the 80s but I am more breathless. Everything is now an even greater struggle.
How does this work?
The only other thing different is that I had an injection into my stomach of a blood thinner for suspected DVT ( which proved not to be the case, thankfully ). Could this have any bearing on the breathlessness?
Do you think that the trimbow is not working for you now? Or has it only ever worked for helping your 02
Not sure really. I was struggling before I changed to the Trimbow from Fostair and Spiriva but I now feel as if I cannot breathe out sufficiently to allow me to get air in - if that makes any sense.
I am constantly trying to empty my lungs and it is such a relief when I manage it.
Certainly my O2 levels are much improved and I had thought that that would help me to function a little better but it has not proved to be the case.
I have been recommended to go on Trimbow, I am currently on ventolin, Fostair twice daily and Ellipta incruse once daily.
This was by the BOC respiratory nurse, stand in for NHS, but I also see the rsp nurse at the GP.
The GP nurse is in on Wednesday and will be shown the recommendation for Trimbow and pass her judgement on it according to the GP.
I recently went on to home oxygen, static and portable bottles, after a walk test briefly hit 89%, very borderline but the nurse thought I would benefit from oxygen.
However, I did a walk test last week with the BOC nurse and I was unable to speak after a very short walk and was sweating.........She took my reading and I was 99%!
Nurse reckoned I did not need oxygen but would not be taking it from me, instead putting me on Trimbow.
She thinks my breathing issues are brought about by anxiety.....although I am not consciously anxious, I think I know what she means.
So its a bit worrying when people report breathlessness worsened by Trimbow, last thing I need..
I don't know that the Trimbow is to blame. It may be a coincidence especially when my O2 levels have improved so much. It could be that the breathlessness is down to the injection that I had last week because I have a long history of allergies/intolerances.
I am seeing my GP on Thursday about the problem that she thought was a DVT so she might be able to shed some light on the problem but given her track record, I do not hold out much hope ……
Re. your breathing issues and anxiety. I know what you mean about not being consciously anxious but I do notice that my breathing is much worse when I am put under any sort of pressure.
We are all different and I am sure you will be just fine with the Trimbow. At least it is one less inhaler to take.
