Need help on best respiratory consultant in Blackpool area.

I was referred 6 weeks ago to hospital but can not get an appointment yet! They keep saying no appointments have been released. I am deteriorating rapidly now and it took me 6 months to get my doctor to refer me in the first place. I could just about scrape money together for a private consultation. But couldn't afford private after that. Please help I really don't know where to go or what to do. Thankyou for your time in reading this.

If you are in blackpool i assume you will be at the victoria hospital, is that right ?

My consultant at blackpool is called le kim wah, a chinese doctor and he is fantastic. Very understanding and more importantly he listens to what i have to say. I spent a month in hospital in january feeling really unwell, a different consultant wanted to send me home, but thankfully for my consultant they kept me in and found MRSA in my lungs. If it wasnt for him i wouldnt be here now and im only 53.

I can understand your concerns,most GPs are avoiding referrals as they are blocking them at hospital too due to long lists in some departments.Its expensive for private referral if you are on low income, but might be worth asking your GP to investigate why there are no appointments and maybe he could refer you elsewhere to get a quicker one.
