Walking pneumonia didn’t fully go away with azithromycin?

I was treated for walking pneumonia almost 6 weeks ago with azithromycin. My high fever is gone, but I still have a temperature in the 99s which is unusual for me. Still having chest tightness and coughing even though chest X-ray and Ct scan were clear. Anyone else experience this? I feel like some bacteria is still lingering.

Send a sputum sample off to the lab for microbiology. Make sure it's a good one that is from deep down in the lungs and get it to the hospital as soon as you can. Also, ask the doctor for a blood test for infection markers.

Thank you for your ideas. I was able to get an earlier appointment with a pulmonologist thank goodness! Hopefully that will help figure things out.
