Well hello again all. It has been an interesting time since I moved to Kazakhstan medical wise))

As I thought ANORO Elipta is not available here so I tried to get some when I was back in the UK the last two weeks.

I was shocked and dismayed about the reaction I got from the doctors surgery that I first joined in 2002, this is the one that took me off their books because i had not visited them for 6 months, i asked for a private consultation with the doctor and was "politely" told that they dont do that anymore - shock horror!!!!

There was no way I could get them to concede to my request so was then looking around for somewhere that could fit me in in the short time available. No luck🤔

So it looks like I am going to have to go through the whole process of diagnosis again here in Kazakhstan. Not looking forward to it))).

There is an alternate way that one of the chemists suggested - buy it online from Moscow - not a good plan I think)))

Anyway I go for my company medical tomorrow and not looking forward to it. The picture is the local medical facility)))

Many years ago when I was in UFA (North of you) I depended on the local pharmacies with no trouble at all. Then the refinery director said I should have Kumis every day, to fix my chest!

Not tried Kumis yet and so far managed not to have horse meat either))

Might try the milk but definitely not the meat.

First mistake I made in Russia was taking a big drink of what I thought was milk but turned out to be Kefir) quickly learned that milk is Moloko in Russian.

The pharmacies here have even heard of the meds so will be trying in Kiev or Moscow shortly just need to check the origin of them to make sure they are genuine)))

You are legally entitled to a copy of your medical records including your diagnosis. If you are registered with patient access you can print it off from there. You could then take it to a doctor in Kazakhstan to get the medication. You

Hi yes unfortunately most of my recent records (10 years) are not with the UK system. Fortunately my doctors for this period have given me nearly all the records including copies of scans bloods x-ray ultrasound etc so I will be able to pass these on but my experience of 'private' medical facilities in the places I have been is that they like to start again from the beginning)) but will see what happens tomorrow. It will be interesting to say the least))

Good luck with it. When I lived in Beirut in the 70s I never saw a doc but bought my antibiotics from the pharmacy. You could buy anything then but not sure how it is now.

It has been the same for me pretty much. Some pharmacies will not give out antibiotics but you just go a little further down the road and another one will sell with no questions asked)) Not tried for pred. Yet but I am pretty sure there will be no problems. Just the inhaler that concerns me

Best wishes to you Andrew..did you ask the British Consulate for their recommended list? The Embassy in Moscow should have one.

Then you can get a proper medical consultation..

Not yet but tomorrow will speak with the doctor who is doing my employment medical. He/She might have a Kazakhstan equivalent or be able to point me in the right direction. If not then will see what happens next

But to be safe I havd been in contact with a friend in Moscow to see if they can find it there

A quick update - the company has just rolled out a membership to International SOS and as part of that they have a help desk for just this type of problem.

Will be giving them a call tomorrow when I can get some quiet time, maybe they can suggest a quick route to getting the right things here in country.

Hope everyone is managing with the heatwave in the UK.
