PIP Granted

I had a message on my phone, day before yesterday from DWP regarding my claim for PIP, asking that I ring back on a number they left. Thinking it was going to be a rejection of my claim Irang the number. The gent wanted to know about the fact that I had " lived" in Portugal for the last 5 years. I corrected him and told him that I had simply gone to the Algarve part of Portugal to get away from the cold , polluted and Flu ridden UK ,over the last 5 winters, not to live permeantly.

He said that was fine and had cleared up his inquiry, I asked if my claim was going to be successful now he had a satisfactory answer to that particular question, not really expecting him to be able to tell me. He said that it looked as though I would be getting daily living allowance, and that it looked as though I would get mobility as well, but he now had to work out what level. So although I won't be convinced until I get notification in writing ,it looks like I got it.πŸ‘πŸ‘

On another positive note, I had applied for some help from the Soldiers, Sailors Airforce Association ( SSAFA) , they sent round an occupational Heath consultant who was there on behalf of the Royal Airforce association. It turns out that she is applying for me to have a mobility scooter and a rise and recline chair provided, and has already put those proposals forward.

Since getting back from Portugal, I have seen my consultant, had two ECG's, had an initial interview with the Pulmonary rehab team, they cannot accept me on a course yet as my heart is racing away madly all the time so I have to go for an echocardiogram next month. And I have a full blown lung function test this coming Tues at the Hostpital.

It's all happening at once folks.

Great news, Chris. My late husband Bob was able to pay for a good mobility scooter through SSAFA's support. It really helped him get about when he was getting too breathless to do much.

Lots of good news, apart from pulmonary rehab question, but at least that's being looked at too. Enjoy your new equipment - well done x

Glad it's all working our for you, good news from all quarters except the heart business.

Keep well, use the electric scooter they give you so much more mobility and you can go places nearby that you may not have seen for some time.
