hi i no the feeling mine started around 2 half 3 yr ago now at first i went to the doc who sent me to ent to be to it was acid in my stomach working its way up and burning my oeophagus i was put on esomeprazole 20mg 2 a day well it just carried on and on i finally had enough and went back to the dr hoping i would be taking seriously and to this i was given a nasal spray the dr said if you dont see a difference in a few month i will refere you and guess what its working ,there are days i sound a bit horse but im so gratefull for having my voice back and also my thoratic consultant has refered me for a gastroenterology which i think should of been done at the beginning anyway the spray i was at first having 1 in morning and 1 at night now 2 morning 2 night and its fluticasone furate nasal spray i hope this helps you take care and good look .

hi maybe some vocal stretching exercises may help - its amazing how tight the muscles get. I do these; pretend you have chewing gum in your mouth and over exaggerate the movements; do pretend yawns though be careful you end up yawning; imagine making a smile at the back of your throat . x

Hi, I've had the same problem, try to get your GP to refer you to a specialist who can give you some voice exercises and tips. My specialist told me to try an inhaling system that you can buy on Amazon for around £3.50 called "Steam inhaler" by medisure, it does help. Unfortunately when you stop your voice MAY go back to being gravely, then it's time to start the treatment all over. It does also help with the mucus. Have you tried Carbocisteine if not get the GP to put it on the prescription this helps to get mucus up and therefore slows down the likelyhood of infections.
