Post op recovery at home after a Cervical Fusion operation. ADCF
Hello! Ive had my spinal fusion which in itself went very well so far but early days. I went straight into Critical care in 1-1 nursing and they kept eye on my chest COPD. I had some sort of virus before surgery and took a low maintanace dose if Steroids and antibiotics. However the caughing has been awful and a bit frightening plus i have a wound on my neck which is healing. I couldnt seem to caugh up a kind of mucus plug and struggling ever since if I lay down.
I use pillows to prop me up when laying on my side and keep elevated when on my back.
What more could I try?
My chest/lungs feel like they are in spasm and i cant breath out easily and hyperventilate.
Otherwise im doing good!

The usual home remedies, the ones you like and tolerate, I go for herbal teas, lots of fluids, breathing my essential oils mix or olbas oil, glycerin throat pastilles. Sitting up in your armchair and keep on moving around the house instead of laying down, pacing yourself and using breathing exercises as on youtube but nothing strenuous.
