Exercise on Wednesday

I spoke to my doctor about rehab and she thought it was a good idea. Didn't get out much this winter and now feel quite anxious about starting an exercise program I guess I am afraid I won't be able to do it. Wish me luck.

That is why I am doing it I just asked my primary care doctor if I could go to rehab because I felt that exercise would be beneficial to my breathlessness and I was terrified of going to a gym at first and she agreed. I think part of being so breathless is not using your lungs. I think you have to make them stronger.

Of course you can do it. You are not forced into running like Sebastian Coe. The exercises are just at your own pace, but to improve you must try your hardest and hopefully at the end of the course you will have improved and able to do more. The education on how to manage your symptoms is invaluable. Then there is the social side of being in a group of others who suffer the same, no need to be embarrassed by your condition. Above all enjoy yourself.

Thank you just being a baby. If I can go through everything I have already been through this should be a piece of cake.

Of course u can do it ! Is a statement i get off my youngest son wen hes tryin 2 coax me out of my comfort zone,2 cum over 4 tea,2 hav a shower instead of strip washes in his place,i know its said wiv good intentions but i get wot roessner541 means,i get terrible anxiety + cant breathe wiv panic that rises in my body,i am followin ur progress closely my freind,do wot ur comfortable wiv x take care all,1 step at a time x💋💓🌻😜🌞🌟👍😘🤗🧡👌🛴♿🇬🇧🚑

You will be in good hands..don’t push yourself at the beginning and focus on your breathing. Make sure you have your inhalers etc handy should you need anything. I take a small bottle of water and tissues as well.

Take care x

YOU CAN DO IT ROESSNER!! You really can. Doing it just means taking one step, then another. You start from where you are - there are no expectations about what you should be able to do. The only 'should' is to turn up. The physios are very kind and will help you and show you what to do. There will be others like you and you can all support each other. Do please let us know how you get on. Many of us have been in exactly your position and PR made things better :)

You will be absolutely fine - you will not be forced to do anything you can't manage. While I was in hospital a few days ago the physio's came along to take me into exercise dept. I thought they were joking as my breathing was at rock bottom and I hadn't been out of bed for 2 days. However I surprised myself by how much I actually did.

You will only be asked to try everything - and as others in the class are probably feeling exactly the same you'll all be amazed at what you actually can do and you will feel better for it after a couple of sessions.

You will probably love it. So many nice young people to sit by you and coax you through. One of ours was a real "eye candy" young man. I was very happy when he told me I was working well. A very mixed group, from folk who could hardly get across the room to an elderly gent who had to be ordered to slow down.

You will Love it, I have just finished my last Course(5th) and This Morning I'm at a loss as I would be there for 10am. I will miss the social side also, but aim to pop in to have a chat with them all. I will be at Breathe Easy Exercise class at 2pm today. A BE Group we Created when Rehab finished for most of us, I have always felt a lot Stronger after Rehab , I did mine on Oxygen and as Fran says make sure you take your ventolin or whichever inhaler you use. take it slowly as with the Routine it is specially adapted for our condition, Lung Disease, the Physios are excellent and Know your level of Breathlessness. Good Luck and Enjoy. Love n Hugs Carolina xxxx
